It's produced by the same writer as Happy Valley and will air in December. I am looking forward to it very much. It also explores the sisters' brother, Branwell too.

It has a running time of 2 hours so it is essentially a film.

Sounds good. On tonight at 9pm. Sally Wainwright is a good writer as has a good track record with the BBC.

Another good original first run drama for the holiday period.

Hopefully. Is that James Norton playing the toy soldier? The flaming halos over their heads is very well done.

This is pretty depressing. The brother is really annoying. Not sure I can endure this for 2 hours.

I couldn't help but notice Branwell's Death of Chatterton's pose there.

If you're hoping a story about the Brontes is going to be a laugh a minute and end on a high I'm afraid you're going to be disappointed.

Life's too short sometimes and dramas like this makes it feel even shorter.

I don't like this portrayal of Charlotte Brontë.

Moan, moan moan...

I like Patrick though. It's always lovely to see Jonathan Pryce.

I don't expect a laugh a minute but the first 30 minutes were really depressing. Maybe I'm not in the mood for it at the moment. Think I'll record it for another time.

What a pity "tough love' wasn't around then. I'id have bounced Branwell out on his ear.

Three sisters who hate each other's guts at one time or another, locked up in that depressing vicarage on the Yorkshire Moors, wasn't surprising that none of them made 40.... (or their brother). Can you imagine how hellish life must have been

I visited the Haworth Parsonage many years ago. I'm sure someone is making notes on accent authenticity.

I'm not paying attention, is Emily nicking Charlottes earlier ideas for a novel?

Why are they featuring Bramwell so much when he was the least famous and least interesting member of the family.

I can't quite put on my finger on it but this all feels more BBC4 than BBC1.

Poor Branwell, living in a god-fearing house like that with 3 judgemental uptight sisters

No wonder he ended up killing himself with drink and drugs. He is a gobshite though. I'd slap him into next week the good for nothing lay about.
