A part of me really wants the show to be great again but the other part of me is guessing that no matter what we say, the producers and Simon won't take it back to basics, which was enjoyable l for us viewers watching and it helped with good ratings. I watch The X Factor every year because I have high expectations that the live shows will be like the ones in 2005, 2008, 2010 and 2011. Every year since 2012, I've been pretty disappointed and there hasn't been a 'wow' line-up of finalists in so long. Last year, I completely lost interest in the show because of the amount of unnecessary changes that took place (bringing Mason Noise back, live judges houses, Nick & Rita as new judges, Olly & Caroline presenting, etc.). I really wish they could it take it back to basics just like the old days. The 2004-2008 auditions were the greatest because it was more about the contestants, less about the screaming families and they were required to sing without music. IMO, there was no need for all these constant changes. If they kept it simple like in the first few series then we might've enjoyed this series more, plus more people would still be watching.
