Anyone else really want the show to succeed?

A part of me really wants the show to be great again but the other part of me is guessing that no matter what we say, the producers and Simon won't take it back to basics, which was enjoyable l for us viewers watching and it helped with good ratings. I watch The X Factor every year because I have high expectations that the live shows will be like the ones in 2005, 2008, 2010 and 2011. Every year since 2012, I've been pretty disappointed and there hasn't been a 'wow' line-up of finalists in so long. Last year, I completely lost interest in the show because of the amount of unnecessary changes that took place (bringing Mason Noise back, live judges houses, Nick & Rita as new judges, Olly & Caroline presenting, etc.). I really wish they could it take it back to basics just like the old days. The 2004-2008 auditions were the greatest because it was more about the contestants, less about the screaming families and they were required to sing without music. IMO, there was no need for all these constant changes. If they kept it simple like in the first few series then we might've enjoyed this series more, plus more people would still be watching.

The talent last year was the best the show has had since 2011 imo. Other factors damaged the series overall (Olly/Caroline, live JHs, brutal manipulation) but the live show line-up was quality - Louisa, Lauren, Fourth Impact, Mason, Seann Miley Moore, Alien Uncovered, Monica. It's just a shame they had to clear the path for Louisa to win (I like her but I wouldn't have sacrificed a series for her).

I have to agree. Last years finalists line up was much more better as it is this year. In my opinion Louisa was a worthy winner. It's a shame she struggels with her career at the moment. There were other reasons why the Show wasn't great (replacing Louis with a nobody, Olly&Caroline, full-packed 6CC, live JH).

Looking back what Kind o contestant they cut at judges houses it was no surprise for me that the viewing figures chrashed as they did this year. House-made-problem.

This thread might be relevant if it was posted in 2010.

It doesn't matter if you want the XF to succeed. Even the producers of the show have given up on it, as clearly evident they've turned it into trash TV.

Even though I lost quite a few acts that I liked at Judges Houses this year, would they have just been turned into this current crop if they'd made the lives? I personally feel that they would have as nobody is allowed to compete with Matt Terry, hence why all of the more talented acts than himself are getting horrifically sabotaged at the lives, and even the weaker ones are being made to sound even worse than they are just so nobody could rally towards them.

The same thing happened last year, and it's why alot of people turned on Louisa after the show as they felt forced into supporting her because of the way that they'd sabotaged the other acts in that year.

I really don't care if it succeeds or flops now... I went to the auditions last year. Some really talented singers didn't go through. All the ones that would be good tv did. I knew Louisa would win! It was really set up for her to win.. All the compeition had been thrown out.. Lauren could have won, but she was getting bad publicity, and being a bit of a diva. I think it's had its day. They had the chance to bring in new fresh judges, but bought back Louis and annoying Nicole and Mrs O (not forgiven her for the Dannii Minogue treatment) The xtrafactor is more like bbbots now.. Don't like the change. I think it's stale! I hate the six chair challenge.. The most stupid change of format they did to the show.. I watched that live and it's brutal.. You don't hear how bad the audience boo on the produced tv edited show. New judges, scrap the six chair challenge, and put through the good singers.. Stop the SOB stories
