Don't want to tempt fate but when you hear something like "He will not return to public life until he is 100% better" normally means that the end is nigh...sincerely hope not though.
I'm sorry to read that. He has always been so active for his age. I hope he can find the energy to get moving again as it would make a lot of difference to his health. It takes a long time to recover from an operation or illness at Bruce's age. I know from experience with family members.
Small plea!! I know not everyone likes Bruce but please, in kindness to yourselves, just in case something happens, don't say pointed things about him now.

^^ this ^^
He's not my favourite presenter and I prefer SCD without him, but he's an old, sick man now. He's a father, grandfather and a great-grandfather.
You'd have to have a swinging brick for a heart not to acknowledge his enormous contribution to British light entertainment and his work rate over the years.
While I agree it doesn't sound hugely encouraging, I sincerely hope he defies the odds and makes a good recovery so he and his family can enjoy many more years of his retirement.

Thank you. Very well said. I honestly don't understand why he gets so much flack on this forum.

Well said. I know this is Digital Spy but we could do away with the nastiness now. I saw my grandad work to the age of 81 so I know what's like for the old generation to feel like they can't carry on and to have to stop without wanting to. Wish him a speedy recovery
