Just wondering how many of the Celebs will be available to take part next year ?

From memory, there are usually 7 couples who take part - with sometimes a past series celeb making up the numbers if not enough current series celebs are available.

This year I can only see 4 possibles for the tour

Louise
Daisy
Danny
Ed

is that lower than usual ? and who would they get to make up the numbers ?

Why not Ore, Melvin, or Lesley?

I'd say JR & Ore are big possibilities too.

The only people who are almost 100% guarnteed to not be in it is Greg, Claudia and Tameka.

I was working on the basis that Ore and Lesley will be too busy with their day jobs.

Plus, even if she had a bit of time, I dont think Lesley would dance with anyone other than Anton ( she apparently specifically requested him as her partner on the show ) and Anton will be doing his own tour at that time.

Melvin was a first week departure - I dont think he would be a big draw for getting people to buy tickets for the tour.

Ore would have to dance with another pro dancer as Joanne will be in the throws of Thoroughly Modern Millie next year!

I'm sure Ore can be spared. And given all the fuss about Melvin's departure there would surely be a certain frisson to having him show what he could have won ..er .. done!

I'm sure he could cope!

Joanne Clifton is doing the "Thoroughly Modern Millie" Theatre tour starting January,
so she will not be on the Tour. Unless Ore is going to dance with Karen then he will not be on it either.

Judge Rinder could probably make time - especially if the whole point of him doing Strictly is to raise awareness of his daytime show.

Also bear in mind they like to use Pro couples (presumably saves a few quid on hotel rooms ??)

So if Kevin, Aljaz and Katya are dancing then they would need partners for their "other halves".
There is usually a "spare" Pro so maybe Neil Jones would be the male backup as he is not paired with anyone.

Mind you Louis Smith is not up to much these days is he ??

If this is a stupid question please humour me: do they do the same waltz, rumba etc that they did on the show or do they learn new ones?

I would say no Laura either.

She is in a stage play early next year, and given ongoing issues with her foot injury might not risk it even if she were available.

They essentially do the same routines as they did on the show - some are slightly altered to take account of the much bigger space on the arenas.

There is usually a sort of stage in the middle of the floor where they do things like the rumbas and ATs but quick steps and salsas see them whizzing round the whole arena.....

I think Louise is already confirmed to do the tour. Isn't the next tour the 10th Anniversary? If so wouldn't they try to get some of the bigger names that have done it already. I see Louis Smith has been mentioned but what about Harry Judd and Natalie Gumede?

Last year every couple did two of their dances they did on the show. The group numbers on the tour were also from the last series - (slightly changed), but sill recognisable (Opening number from the launch show, Hooray for Hollywood from movie week (I think), what I did for love, the beach routine, closing numer - That's entertainment from musicals week)

Could depend on whether she is going to do Let's Dance next year (German SCD)

That's a good point re Melvin, I had not thought of it that way - could be a way of making it up to him and would work well with the Pros - Aljaz/Janette being on the tour

Lesley would have to dance with someone else as Anton would be on tour. I think JR would be too busy

Anne Widdicombe danced with Craig when she did the Tour, and Nancy sort of danced with Artem

Gethin danced with Flavia when I saw it and won several shows.
