Can't believe nobody's mentioned this "classic samba"...which went on to become this celebrity's signature 'dance'...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xc5iVxP2R0

And if anyone has Claire King & Brendan's samba (complete with judges comments and scores) please please please upload it. I cry with laughter every time I see it because Claire just cracks up and the end saying "I couldn't stop"!!!

Craig goes on to liken her dancing to that of a "drunken aunt"!!!

Hilarious!!!

I even didn't mind Kate Garraway's salsa (danced awfully) but it had a great latin song to go with it”

Rachel and Vincent: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMLD63iYYZQ - that was fab. I remember Rufus Hound commenting about that on ITT saying that someone could do themselves a serious injury trying to copy that or words to that effect but it was actually a salsa.

Kate and Anton salsa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tkGhYTbE4M

Her Samba was unfairly slated and undermarked compared to some others which weren't anywhere near as good.”

Terrible, the gal's doing all the dancing at the start distracting from the bloke off-screen;he must be struggling

I also love this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M12BxJ8rbSA not perfect but wonderfully sensuous.

And this samba is my favourite https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTtrHKeOvlc

This one,I find appealing for a few reasons (one of which is that it's spectacular in my 1080p rip from the skybox) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oc8oLLkmo1E

Jill and Darren's samba was mentioned in the Laura thread too but like the poster I couldn't find it on You Tube.

I could find Emma Bunton's effort with the same partner which while I wasn't her greatest fan but any stretch is pretty good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlEttJMHP0M

The thread also mentioned is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gq-vb6NJGdE

This is a montage of someone's fav sambas includes Jill Halfpenny, Louisa Lytton and Mark Ramprakash and a few DWTS contestants I don't recognise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oqhEvreHTM

I had TOTALLY forgotten about this! I 100% agree, please somebody find Claire'a Samba

From the same series, I remember really liking Carol Smilie's Samba and she really didn't deserve to go the week she did

I can't find that clip either but she said her husband wanted her to go home in her salsa dress I can't find the clip of that either.

Without a doubt, Jill Halfpenny's samba will always be the best. Such a shame it's no longer on youtube. Honourable mentions to Denise Lewis, Georgia (minus the bloody hat choreo), Pixie, Matt Baker, Caroline (minus the horrific costume and music)...I remember loving Zoe's at the time, but in retrospect, the outfit did A LOT of the work.

Ta, I knew they'd phased in the others but couldn't remember which way round.

While perhaps not the greatest, I think Lilia did incredibly well to continue dancing the Samba with Darren Gough after the strap on her costume broke.

Of these mentioned that don't already have links:

Holly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFuU4LZw_Tg
Natalie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=maLaxLFJPpo
Dani: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFuwvwUhTzc
Patrick: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s95zuw9IzLw
Pixie: I can't find a video for a salsa for her perhaps you confused it with her samba which is linked elsewhere.
Helen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfXE4DqmS9U - Hello nurse! I'm sure that went down well with the dads in the audience too It was pretty good and I loved the way she grew herself into it.

The music of which in turns reminds of which I liked at the time at least: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2uqg7AViSg

Christine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8ztBDpvnn0
Louis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8ztBDpvnn0 - I thought this was unfairly treated by the judges - lots of nagging about being unexpressive facially.,
Patrick (samba this time): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CO4LdvXln4g

Yes I meant Pixie's samba. She never performed a salsa.

I disagree about Zoe - I thihk she did a lot of geunine samba moves in there. More than many actually and the hips moved a fair amount.

Agreed. And the same with samba. How can you put salsa moves to music that isn't salsa? Surely it will help the celeb learn technique better if you, at least, have the proper music. I really don't understand it I extend this view to rumba too. Rumba is a LATIN dance, the rotation in the hips goes with the slow bossa nova type tunes which, imo, are authentic rumba beats. You can't dance a GOOD rumba to any old slow song - that's my thoughts anyway

One of the best rumba tunes ever, can't understand why this hasn't been used before (or has it? Correct me if wrong) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2kmFpsetRc

Not a great one but I'll always remember Peter Schmeichel's "samba" where he started with a jump off the stage and then proceeded to forget the entire routine!

That was pre dance off days and his name was first to be called, Craig's face was priceless.

That was the same one to 'Use it up and wear it out' wasn't it? Where he did a literal interpretation of the lyrics 'one, two, three shake your body down' in front of the judges. If so I remember it well it was awful and..... strangely wonderful and have searched You Tube for it in vain.

I remember her saying that if she'd stayed in, she'd have had the Salsa and the American Smooth in the semis. We were deprived of both

What's striking about this, in comparison to now, is that it starts with the dancers off stage, and after they are announced they walk straight on to an empty dance floor and start dancing!

The very one. And like yourself I've searched YouTube for it in vain as well.
