You could well be right but why did he have to go way OTT . He didn't fool anyone least of all the judges .

Even when fit her Latin was weak, anyway she's out.

Part of the problem was the camera work. The director could easily have kept both Laura and Giovanni in shot during the spins, or ignored him and just showed Laura. I suspect that, by the end of a very fast routine on an injured leg, Laura was stationery with just a bit of body action going on - not exactly a show-stopping finish.

Would it have been better to create a 'wow factor' in a different way? Probably. I imagine Gio has learned from that.

But the judges scored her dancing, not his, and the leaderboard position was fair. The biggest problem for Laura, and a great, great shame, was the visible mistake she made in the opening section. That cost her a mark or two, and the opportunity to tie with maybe Daisy or Ore. She got it right in the dance off which was nice to see.

Brendan ridiculously floats around Anastacia on a hoverboard, and this is what bothers people?

Interesting points. Nice analysis of the camera work as well.

Yes. Giovanni clearly needs to swot up on the Big Book of Hoverboard Choreography when Brendan returns it to the Strictly Lending Library.

Lots of other people said it before (myself included) that there were other ways to cover for her than doing pirouettes at the speed of light across the dance floor but he did what he did because besides having an injury, she was crap at Latin. Batucadas are super difficult to do if you have stiff hips like her plus an ankle injury, no way she was going to be able to do them this week. I think she's not stupid and understood pretty well why he had to do it, that's why I'm a bit miffed she's throwing shade in that backstage video. Blame him all you like sweetie, you were on borrowed time regardless of pirouettes or not.

Yes, Giovanni made a mistake but blaming him for her exit is ridiculous, she's lucky she stayed that long, injury or not. She was in the DO in week 2 when she didn't have any injury so the fact she's left at this point is totally unsurprising.

Natalie with Greg (especially the rhumba), Brendan in the jive with Anastasia, pretty much any female pro who gets a duffer...”

Brendan is never returning it to the library.
The hover board is under a sheet in his garden shed, as well.

He should have done what Natalie did last week. Let the tears flow and let Laura know how much he let her down. Might have got the sympathy vote!!

They should definitely, definitely give the hover board to AJ. He may need it to escape from Dr Hammy on the Christmas Special.....

What might have been....

Giovanni should also swot up on the Big Book of Well-timed Crocodile Tears. When Natalie returns it, obviously. No rush.

It was hilarious. I immediately knew Laura was toast.

In series 5 many Matthew Cutler fans wanted him to use the cape for his paso with Alesha but he chose not to (even though he was the capemeister) as he felt it would distract from Alesha. That's what I expect from the pros, not Gio-style showboating.

I'd pay good money to see AJ and Dr Hamela! Especially if she tried to analyse his sex life, like she did James! We need to get him and Claudia out of the competition pronto so that this can happen. TV gold I tell you!

What an odd thing to say! I've not seen anyone celebrating! And I certainly don't feel like that.

I do think you are possibly trying to see a narrative that (on the part of most people at least) really isn't there

But Alesha was really good, a much better dancer than Laura.

Wasn't Laura joint second bottom after the judge's scores anyway, so her being in the bottom two is hardly a massive fall from grace.

Surely we can all analyse James Jordan's sex life from Ola's book?

He did the same thing last year as well and Len told him off big time.

That was about not enough rumba choreo - not the same issue - and to be fair to him, he took it on board and jam packed their subsequent routines with plenty of proper choreo/ basic steps

I have to admit I did enjoy watching him and I am afraid I hardly noticed poor Laura. I personally would really like to see more of the pros dancing rather than all the padding out, the sketches and the judges sometimes just waffling on. Just my opinion.

Reading previous posts I have come to the conclusion they need to give Gio and Brendan a super spinning hover board pro show dance spectacular, whilst thier pro partners sit on the bench.
