Salsa dancers may be wincing watching her demo the SCD figure of 8 move they seem to be obsessed with. Looked more like a samba move to me.

Really?
Heaven knows what she was like before, then?

I absolutely agree with you. She's an extremely knowledgeable lady when it comes to dancing but I find she doesn't fully explain the points she is making on CC, particularly when it comes to the demonstrations.

The best person who ever did it in my time of watching was Jo Clifton. She reminded me of one of my teachers a little bit with the way she explained stuff using analogies like "keeping the hot cross bun" and moving your arms through custard

She didn't really explain it properly. If she'd have said "ok this is the footwork of a salsa basic... then you use foot pressure to create the hip action like you're drawing a figure 8 in the air with your hips" as she demonstrated then fine... but nothing was explained at all. Disappointing.

btw I've only danced salsa a handful of time so this explanation may not be correct at all just an example of HOW I'd want something explained.

I don't dislike Karen but maybe she's going a bit like Craig and Bruno, sometimes more interested in creating an image than doing her job?”

Exactly this. Her time away has made the viewers see that other, more likeable and instructive people can easily take her place and do as good as if not better a job than she ever did. Chloe and Neil were really great doing CC and I would prefer them to do it ever week rather have to watch Karen grin like an idiot and clap herself in ever time they call her name. I honestly think she is buying into the persona that Zoe and the crew have woven around her, that of this hugely successful well liked and loved tv personality. You can only massage someones ego so far before what little humility they may have vanishes and they believe you wholeheartedly.

Exactly.

Funny how things work. She was one of my least favorite pros when she was on the show. Joanne Clifton reminds me too much of her. I have really started to like her since she left the show. I love her on ITT .

Sensible person. I 'muted' her and paid my VAT instead.

She is so vulgar and such a show off.

Oh no, please don't let that happen. I would rather have two Craig's than two Bruno's.

So that's 18-12 against. Thank ****. Thought it was just me who couldn't take the gurn. If we are having a female judge Shirley Ballas please. Sadly not sure the Beeb can afford weekly transatlantic flights.

Either would be the end of Strictly for me.

Anton is too usefully employed with a celebrity.

Anton, like Karen, is marmite. That said, when he was a judge on The People's Strictly I thought he did a really decent job.

I'm afraid I really can't stand her. Too noisy, too OTT and too embarrassing.

I agree. I would hate to see her as a judge. I liked her when she partnered Mark Ramprakash, but I really dislike her now.

I thought Camilla did a good job and Joanne explained things better. Why not let Ian Waite do both the Warm-up and review. He does explain things without so much ego and I really retain what he says.

Well Anton and her have one thing in common, neither one has what it takes to be a presenter. Its a tricky skill.

Hopefully that means we'll be spared either one if them and get a Ballroom expert who does not have an ego the size of China and actually has some genuine charm.

Maybe she would tone it down if she were on the main panel. She certainly has the knowledge. I used to like her a lot and was routing for her and Ramps to win all those years ago but I am finding her just too much on ITT.

I think they should change it week in, week out on CC. Jo Clifton was great last year and I've enjoyed Neil, Chloe and Camilla these last few weeks.

Karen remains one of my best ever interviewees. Why ? She was engaging, honest, funny and while she takes her job seriously, she doesn't take herself seriously. She's great on ITT; I wish Zoe would ask shorter questions and let Karen get on with explaining the dancing!

If anyone wants the link to my interview, just shout. It's from 2009.

All due respect, but 2009 was a long time ago, in my opinion she's become a more over-the-top pain in the arse each year. Her "corner" she thinks is more about her than what she says.
She and Zoe are as bad as each other.
As others have said her replacements did a far better job.
