Throughout the show's history there have been many instances of Doctor Who regulars appearing in the show prior to becoming a regular as other characters. (And afterwards sometimes too)

Which one is your favourite though?

For me, it's Peter Purves as Morton Dill in The Chase. I actually prefer this character to Steven, think he would have made a much better companion! He was absolutely hilarious! (Imho)

I also like Nick Courtney as Bret Vyon in The Dalek Masterplan and whether you regard her as a regular or not, Jean Marsh as Princess Joanna in The Crusade and later as Morgaine in Battlefield were both awesome roles.

I also like our current main man for his role in Fires Of Pompeii. I liked the modern twist they gave to his character where he says things like 'You're not going out dressed like that!'

Anyway, these are a few of my thoughts. What's your fave 'other role' in Doctor Who?

Obviously Capaldi in "The Fires of Pompeii" was great. Not seen Colin Baker's story as "Maxil", but Clara's gran in "Vengance on Varos" was pretty funny.

Morton Dill was funny as well, but I do like Steven quite a lot.
