Ed Balls has apparently told his wife not to worry as he wont fall for the so called Strictly romance curse .......now there's one confident, deluded man

I'm sure Katya is very disappointed.

Well he isn't trying to hard, to "avoid it" if given his reaction on being saved on Sunday, a bit too "touchy feeley" with his partner, no wonder he didn't bother to mouth "thank you" to the voters who kept him.
He's obviously just seeking a bit of public attention coming out with nonsense like that.

He reminds me of Dom Littlewood, the BBC Munchkin, who was a it too "handy" with Lilia Kopylova, in my opinion.

The Grazia interview is a bit less than your summary (which made me laugh)

The former Shadow Chancellor insisted that his relationship with professional dancing partner Katya Jones is Strictly - sorry! - professional. "Katya's father is a year older than me, so there's no issue there," he insisted. "But it is a strikingly physical programme.
"And the hours are long, we rehearse eight hours a day, and it's emotional. So you can see how it happens to other people."

However, I noticed on ITT on Monday that Ed had finally realised that his arm should be on top of the sofa, not around Katya's shoulders. Someone has had a quiet word. Probably Yvette.

I think it shows he has a sense of humour (which is more than can be said for some posters on this thread).

I thought Yvette looked slightly less embarrassed than usual on Saturday. Maybe it was the relief at knowing that Ed was going to resist Katya's uncontrollable advances?

Ed's dance fantasies are all coming true, apart from that one apparently.

What a pile of merde! As if.

Idle speculation by people who don't have enough to do and need to stop living their lives precariously through tv 'slebs'.

Given the choice between Ed Balls and Katya's husband, I'd go for Ed Balls. Ed seems more of a supper on trays in front of the fire chap, which would suit me just fine.

How I agree with you...the poor guy was asked to go on Strictly...he had never danced before...he is not great but he has improved...he is now being accused of being... touchy feeley....deluded... and more.

For goodness sake leave the guy alone...I thought Strictly was about not being able to dance and going on a journey learning to dance.

At least the guy is not doing a Anne Widdecombe and Russell Grant who never even tried to dance and thought they would get by by pure comedy.

He is not going to win...let him have his moment.

Thanks for this. It shows, as always, how straplines/headlines take everything out of context, similar to when Sinitta was quoted as saying Brangelina split had nothing to do with her (lots of LOLS there as well, when in actual fact the context was I dated him two decades ago, not sure why you'd ask my opinion, got **** all to do with me".

I like Ed. Hope he stays in longer, starts knocking out the ringahs and does a showdance just to piss off his haters.

Well contrary to the "he should be so lucky" type replies, I happen to think he's a bit of a catch

Politician in displaying humour SHOCKA!

TBH, I reckon Ed hasn't been short of offers in his time - what with power being a great aphrodisiac and all that. I suspect he'd be deeply unlikely to be engaging in any extra-marital shenanigans on telly, though.

Indeed. I'd love to see him in the final - and I'd put him up there with Craig (my Strictly staff favourite due to that wonderful smile!) in terms of attractiveness. Ed has amazing eyes. I think he and Craig are hotter than the male pro dancers & other male celebs on the show. So, each to their own!

Ha ha, a great line!

Will Ed ever get to do a Rumba, as that will be one dance where Tess won't be able to reuse her "raunchy rumba" line for, I'm sure
What name??

Phew. Katyas fellow must be relieved that Ef's not going to sweep her off her feet.

I love Ed and Katya's relationship, they do seem to have a great rapport.

I'm sure Ed has not been short of offers!

He's a politician.
He's trained to avoid telling the truth.
