.............its a real feel-good programme.

I love the 'journeys', the glitz, the glitter, the sparkles, the pro dances, the make-up and costumes the sheer unadulterated joy of watching it with my grand-daughter on a Saturday night.

So shoot me now.

You?

...it gives a shape and a rhythm to the weeks heading towards winter that is completely cheering. And I love watching people learn stuff.

It's a trivial sparkly mess of a show but I love the tiny human moments of truth, like Bruno suddenly finding words and a presence to reassure Daisy who seemed to be hyperventilating, or Rinder in the Goodbye Laura video stopping himself from saying something like 'we all find it horrible' to say instead 'only the ones going through it know what it's like'. I could have kissed his strange little monkey face for knowing where one person ends and another begins.

I love the glitz and glamour and sheer escapism of it. I like seeing the celebs fall in love with dancing and watching (at least some of) them improve.

I love all of the pros, the judges, Tess, Claudia and Zoe.

I even enjoy a good old moan about music choices, dodgy costumes etc. and I can't wait for Saturday to come around every week!

Awww, beautifully put, I liked that bit from him too

I love the dancing, the outfits (most of the time), the partnerships and their journey, the excitement to see who gets through, the feel good factor when a couple do a fantastic dance.

It's utterly ridiculous, every surface is festooned with glitter, everything that moves is spray tanned. It brought us flying Ann Widdicombe, Russell Grant in a canon, bacofoil, pickled walnuts and many more ludicrous prime time joys. What's his face as a lobster! The Ed Balls Body Rub! John Sargeant being John Sargeant!

I love watching the celebs and the pro dances, even when it's crap it's great.

I don't, but I will watch anything with dance in it. Dance is what I love.

I record SCD and then play it back with my remote in one hand to fast forward the judges, the ghastly videos, Tess saying anything, the often vile pro dances, the silly fake bits and anything with Len Goodman in it.

I like Craig and often agree with him. I like Darcy too - and her shoes.

All of the above, plus
- it gives me a chance to participate in my favourite pastime, namely pontificating loudly on a subject about which I know bugger all.
- it also gives me a chance to participate in my second favourite pastime, namely leering at handsome young men whipping their tops off and gyrating, whilst insisting to the sceptical other half that I'm just studying their technique and footwork.

Because no matter how many years I've watched the show , I always look forward to see the look of utter terror on pros and contestants faces , waiting to see if they'll be back next week.

I loved when Danny said that there are worse things going on in the world than mucking up a foxtrot! Shows he has perspective!

You took the words right out of my mouth, "It's a feel good programme!"

I love the predictability of it, Len moaning, and threatening to pickle his walnuts, and Bruno and Craig getting camper every series.

I love discovering favourites that I have never heard of before, Jay in the last series, and Danny this year.

So yes, I just LOVE it!

I really loved Danny at that point.
This show is a lovely bright, feel good, funny, entertaining, heartwarming, little glitter ball in a scary world and I love it to bits.

It's such a soothing, familiar piece of fluff in some ways, but now and then a glint of heart and soul and sheer joy that just warms me and makes me happy to be human.

I also enjoy the moaning and groaning about terrible music choices, wardrobe sabotage and the general glitzy carry-on.

I love watching the show even though I cannot dance a step! Perhaps that is why, because it astonishes me that these people can learn to dance a whole routine and then perform it in front of millions - it makes me think that perhaps, just perhaps, I could do the same if I had a pro dance partner

I also love the outfits (even the dodgy ones for their sheer stupidity) and the analysis by the "past pros" on the dancers' progress, not that I know what they are talking about most of the time, but it impresses my family when I say there was not much "rise and fall" or "kick and flick" etc in that dance.

There are few programmes I will not miss and the family know to keep quiet and just let me enjoy it whilst I comment throughout, even the dog!

How lovely to hear positive comments about Strictly. I love it for all the reasons quoted, and feel bereft when it finishes!

...it is the only ballroom dance centred programme on TV.
It has an academic interest to me watching people learn to dance.
I see new unexpected aspects of celebs' personalities.
There is usually at least one wow performance per series
The outrage generated on DS (e.g Ed still in, Louise's AT) is often entertaining.

Firstly I love music and dance. I used to dance (ballet & tap, it was years ago, I mostly sat on a chair honest guv) when I was much younger, before arthritis and sciatica set in. So a programme about dancing was always going to appeal to me.

Now, it's like a comfy pair of sequin-edged slippers. Yes I see its flaws, the producer manipulation, the formulae it fits to...but I still look forward every year to each batch of fresh faced celebrities, having a good moan about how many I've never heard of, getting to "know" and like people I would never have otherwise encountered even in such a small superficial way, and hoping that somewhere in there is the mix that will produce a Jay jive, a Ramps AT, a Tom showdance...or even a Chris Charleston or an Ed cha cha cha. That little moment of TV magic, a sparkle on a Saturday night that isn't going to change the fate of nations or end world hunger but that puts a smile on my face.

I agree with much of this although I don't know much about dancing so my interest is less academic and sometimes the outrage gets too much.

I love seeing the truly wonderful or hilarious (either deliberately so or not) and those times when someone turns a corner in their dancing and becomes better than they were also for people who everyone expects to be no good and defy expectation. I tend to like a lot of older contestants for that and when a supposed ringer turns out to be not much cop.

...in a world that seems to be increasingly dark and depressing, it allows a couple of hours a week to zone out and enjoy the sparkle.

(Is that too cheesy?)

It gives me something to think about in the dark dreary days between the end of Summer and Christmas.

Despite all the wrangling on here and out there in the twittersphere it's also a nice old-fashioned family show and I love it!

I love watching people learn something - whether it's dancing, performing, overcoming nerves, whatever... I love that feeling when you see someone do something that four weeks earlier they couldn't do.

I love it when a pro and a celeb just click and perform together as a team and bring out different unexpected sides of each other (nothing to do with their relationship off stage). I love the pro dancers' patience with their celebs, in most cases making sure that even the weakest dancers have a great experience.

I love the pro dances - Strictly is basically my chance to see dancing at all and the pros are all so good.

I love Claudia.

Most of all, I love the way you never know what will happen next. Even when a series seems totally predictable, when it all seems set in stone, you never really know if the next dancer is going to come on and knock your socks off.

I've already posted but thought of something else. The celebs often talk of the "family" of Strictly, and whilst not all of them enjoy the experience, I believe a lot of them do and also enjoy the chance to mix with other celebs from different areas. I think quite a number keep in touch with their fellow contestants and pro partner. I find that really lovely.
