I have a Sony BDP-S-490 player which has not been plugged for at least a year, I have connected back up today and it works fully except for a problem with the network update and demand function.
It tries to connect to the internet but informs me I have a DNS server problem, I have checked my ethernet leads and they are working on other equipment, the unit also has displayed a couple of times that a software update is available but how it knows this when it cannot connect to the internet I dont know.
