In large i would call EastEnders my favourite Soap and the one i support most times when voting for awards but i have found some changes in my soap habits as of late. I just wondered how you all watch the soaps at the moment, this is my watching habit based on the ones i watch which i should say are always recorded, i dont watch them as they transmit.

At this current time i feel my viewing habit of each soap determines how i rate them at this particular time:

EastEnders: Watch the episodes in full but would be getting jobs done in the house at the same time for about half of the episodes per week and usually when Lee Carter scenes come in as i find him extremely hard to watch without feeling depressed myself.

Neighbours: I skip through probably a third of each episode, i watch some scenes that when a storyline i dont like is on and listen to the opening and figure out that i know whats happening and skip to the next scene and so on.

Coronation Street: Usually the least favourite of the soaps i watch and would have watched it like i do with Neighbours for a while but have noticed myself using the forward button a little less than i used to.

Emmerdale: I actually sit down and watch the full episode and rarely use the forward button if i do it is usually cutting out the Paddy and Marlon scenes that i never enjoy. At this current time Emmerdale is the soap when sometimes i have to hit the rewind button for some scenes.

For this time ever, Emmerdale are getting my vote for the upcoming National Tv Awards as i think they truly deserve it as i think they are doing a great job at the moment. Outside the high drama we have seen with the car crash scenes etc the Ashley storyline has me gripped and without doubt is not only the best storyline in the soaps at the moment but it is also been protrayed brilliantly.

EastEnders I zone out the most on scenes involving Kim. It's easy to watch right now because you can miss bits and it doesn't matter, nothing seems important.

Corrie I skip all Roy Rolls scenes because I cannot stand Cathy and her son, I also don't care for Michelle stuff so that also gets skipped.

Emmerdale, the only person I tend to forward on is Marlon so I have no idea what his storylines are. I'm sure the Pierce/Rhona and Paddy storyline is going to become a big deal soon, I just hope Marlon isn't in much of the stuff. I know nothing about Gemma Atkinson's character because of Marlon's presence in her scenes.

I sit down and watch all Corrie episodes live.

I catch up online with EastEnders and skip a lot of it.

Emmerdale, Neighbours and Home and Away are considered to be my core or main soap viewing. I also watch River City every week. I may not watch all live, but I record them daily and I generally watch when i'm ready

The rest: EastEnders, Coronation Street, Fair City and Hollyoaks. I'll only really watch if I find the storyline/s interesting at the time. Or i'll watch a bit of it on a Sunday morning if I haven't got anything else to watch better that could occupy my time.

Emmerdale is my favourite English soap
