Laura, best known as a TV presenter, notably co-hosting I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! NOW! (the ITV2 spin-off), is looking forward to the national tour of the play.
She said: “I’m a huge fan of Peter James’ books and so honoured to be cast as his Cleo for her first theatrical outing.
“Peter has created a strong character in Cleo Morely and I can’t wait to sink my teeth into the role.
“I’m also unbelievably excited to work with producer Joshua Andrews and director Ian Talbot.”
Laura, who is 31 and was born in County Wicklow, said she studied drama before doing a journalism degree, tackling roles including Lady Macbeth and Annie in the Arthur Miller play, All My Sons.
“I have been waiting a long time to return to acting and for a great role like this to come along, so I can’t wait to get on stage around the UK and, of course, Dublin with Not Dead Enough.”
The stage adaptations of Peter James’ bestselling thrillers have become a big annual attraction at the Theatre Royal with their twisting plots and casts of well-known faces.
Not Dead Enough is the third novel in the popular Roy Grace series of books. Grace is the Brighton-based detective with the missing wife (Sandy) who is happy to flout the rule book and deploy unconventional methods to solve a case.
