some lousy music choices again this week

Im hoping they actually make costumes for Ore and Jo this week instead of throwing her in an Old samba dress from the proms last week and mis matching Ore in white and blue

If anyone can make their music work sure Danny and Oti will

Daisy and Ore bottom two.
Danny in levi 501s strutting away from a washing machine
Had better be an instrumental version.

Greg has best song.
Ed has a crowd pleaser.
Rob has a classic.

Oh God if they go the Nick Kamen route they could swing it!

If they set this routine in a launderette I swear I'm going to set my TV on fire.

A moderate and appropriate response.

Another one here who's baffled and bemused by that music choice for Danny's AT - will reserve judgement but the anticipation has suffered a bit.

However I'm delighted that Judge Rinder is getting serious music for ballroom now; have the producers finally realised that he is NOT a joke act but can actually dance? I like Claudia's song as well, Avril Lavigne wrote that one which is a plus in my book! It could and should be lovely.

"I Heard it Through the Grapevine" is a great Motown tune, but played correctly there's a lot of "anticipation" i.e. To explain in simple terms, the first note that really belongs to those in the next bar, is in places played at the end of the previous one, so this could upset the dancer's timing.”

The song has been open to a lot of change in its development. The original Gladys Knight version is so different -- kind of Northern Soul. The happy beat and the mournful lyrics. Maybe Dave Arch can make it work.

Any way, for treats, my friends I bring you treats!

Gladys Knight has gone to a hozzy to sing. THIS would cure you

If Danny can make this work, I'll throw a vote his way for the first time.

Hahaha!

Seriously now, I know it's a bizarre choice but I can see it working. In a distant kind of way, but yeah, I hope so.

I mean Danny's music's not the first thing that comes to mind when you think AT but nor is it Zorba The Greek, so.... perspective

I think he's had pretty decent music so far and they all get one slightly WTF week (or in Claudia's case, 6). And he's a good enough dancer to make it work.

I think Daisy's drawn the shortest straw and Rinder's lucked out (again)

Why couldn't they give them a nice traditional song ?”

Completely agree. It just doesn't fit with an AT at all.

I swear it must be AJ picking the music for Claudia, seriously every week it's the same teeny pop tracks.

When AJ was on the local radio station he rings into each week yesterday, they asked him about the modern music, and said he wished they were given more traditional music, so it's not him that's choosing. From his response you could tell he found their song choices as ridiculous as everyone else.

I do think it is the producers choice.

What I find odd is that the Strictly Facebook account is very active, sometimes interacting with commenters...do they not notice the comments with nearly 1k likes saying how awful the music choices are?

Maybe but at least it will work with their dance this week.

Shock Horror for once Claudia and AJ actually have music that SUITS the dance!!! It might be 'poppy' but if you listen to it it's a twirly song (these are all technical terms by the way) and leads up to a big chorus, I think they will do well with this.

Louise has a crowd pleaser song, wouldn't be surprised to see her top,,,,,IF they can get the lifts right. Judge Rinder has another good song, he's obviously in someones good books at the moment

I heard it thru the grapevine for an Argentine Tango???

First crap song choice for Danny then!

Poor Danny and Oti - how are you supposed to do an Argentine Tango to "I Heard it Through the Grapevine"?

Argh, the dance I've been looking forward to the most gets a bizarre song choice. Hoping Danny & Oti can still deliver.

How interesting ! Well this weeks song choice does suit a VW so as Claudia has a beautiful top frame and good pivoting skills, it should be a great dance !

The BBC have a similar motto as poor old Brucie.

"We're in charge."

They've probably had their market research people working on it.

"Give us a selection of tunes that you think included in a programme, will produce the best ratings."

"What sort of programme?"

What's that got to do with it?

WTAF at Danny's song choice.

Unlike the rest. I think this might be Ed's final week.

As terrifying a thought as that is, it probably isn't so far from the truth

My thought process as I watched It Takes two:

Heard It Through The Grapevine comes on
"Ha, they'll probably give this to Damny and Oti for the Argenti... oh."
