He might seem to like her more recently, but that could be because Vinnie absolutely hates her guts so Phelan seems fond of her in comparison.

I don't understand how anyone could love Eileen. I'm looking forward to the Phelan reveal, but the downside will be the woe is me act that comes after.

I think Phelan has feelings for Eileen but when he learns that Anna has broken up with Kevin he will go to her and offer to care for her and nurse her back to health. He will give Anna the confidence she needs after her legs have been so badly burned and she will finally admit that she has loved Phelan all along. The Phenna pairing will captivate fans so much they will transcend Robron as soaps hottest couple.

As someone else said above, I believe that the actor has had his contract extended so they have to Gove him a reason to stay - as unconvincing as it may be.

The way he said to her how that no matter what she should know that he genuinely cared for her and his gaze at her in the pub.....Definitely trying to pave the way for a conversion. Of course given all we know about the character it is totally unbelievable but when has that ever stopped Coronation Street?

I can't stand him either and long for him to go. I thought I was imagining the 'loving looks' he was giving Eileen, but seems others have noticed too, but leaves me wondering what it is all about as he is as hard as nails.
