Alfie needs to die on screen as does Big Mo, Mick and Elaine just ao we can be sure the door is locked for them.

Alfie has a malignant brain tumour so he'll probably die and you will get your wish!

So do I but I can't see how he won't die else what would be the point of TPTB giving him a malignant tumour?

TPTB in this case was DTC and who knows (or wants to) why he does anything, and he usually backtracks at a pace anyway
![]() But it still seems silly giving him a malignant tumour and then having him miraculously recover from it. This Redwater is supposed to be dramatic but it sounds as if DTC has turned the whole thing into a complete farce! |

To answer your question OP, I'm an old school Kat fan and I'd personally LOVE her to return. I'm behind the new producer and his character oriented vision, but the show lacks enough strong and interesting characters to make it work for me. Kat is still one of EastEnders' most interesting characters, she still entertains me and I thought she totally bossed last January (the last time the show was firing on all cylinders) like the soap goddess she is. SOC will know her character inside out as he worked on her best stories and episodes and so I'd love to see what he'd do with her.

Hi guys,
Earlier in this thread I said that Alfie should die brutally, graphically, and slowly. I was wrong and I apologise. What I should have said was that I wish all of that pain and suffering on Kat as well. Thanks for hearing me out, I feel like this has been a really cathartic process for all of us. It takes a brave, mindful, intellectually gifted, and attractive forum member to admit when they were wrong. Thanks. |

I think they are both stale characters now as well - and I can only see Kat being brought back in an occasional part time sense only now.....like we see/saw with Mo Harris.......especially with Stacey being the only remaining Slater left on the Square now since Belinda's abrupt departure last week. Also I'm not sure what's been happening with Alfie's brain tumour storyline off screen.....
For me then Kat and Alfie's best era was up to when they got it together and then disappeared off into the night (Christmas 2005) but I think having Kirkwood bring the couple back in 2010 was a mistake and lead to things like the ridiculous baby swap storyline with Ronnie et al...... |
