So in the house they have Dan in one room, Joanie and Zack in another, Amelia in one and Kyle in another so with Belle moving in does that mean it is a 5 bedroom house?

That's surely not possible but I can't come up with any scenario that's not at least four bedrooms, which isn't much better. That's why we hardly ever see the upstairs of soap houses, they're like Hogwarts with rooms appearing and disappearing as needed.

I suspect Kyle shares with Zak and Joanie. Is Belle staying for long? Maybe if they think it's temporary, they' re putting up a camp bed somewhere, or maybe there's s a spare bed in Amelia's room or something?

I assume it is a 3 bed house, the downstairs is tiny for a 4 bed house!!

I just logged in to ask the same question ! Kyle had to move in with zac and joanie because of lack of space originally so where has the extra bedroom come from. It was a three bed I thought when Bob and the twins stayed there with Dan.

It was quite some time before I twigged that there was a flat for Sam when he lived with Zak and Lisa so I just accepted that all the houses in Emmerdale are like the Tardis and expand as and when needed!

I reckon its 3 bedrooms. Seems hard to believe this was the same cottage where poor Jackson lived

Shouldn't Zack and Joanie be making an effort to get their own place instead of freeloading at Dan's all this time anyway?

What does Zak do for money? I know Joanie is at the factory but Zak does not seem to be employed at all!

That's another mystery that we seem deemed never to know the answer too.

Used to do the odd hour or two at Butler's farm, but now I expect he is too busy poaching rabbits and supporting the bar at the Woolpack. Always has been a useless idle person, it runs in the Dingle genes but I bet he knows his way around the welfare benefit system.

Sam's flat has always been a feature of the Dingle hovel. It's featured loads of times over the years and actually makes sense to be in existence. It is above the barn and I believe can be accessed via the main house, as well as an external staircase from the outside.

But no one in any soap claims benefits of any description it's one of the biggest SORs.

And when they do try, they usually go to the jobcentre to be confronted with an aggressive civil servant who tells them that they are entitled to nothing. I remember years ago the Deans on HO being absolutely destitute and going for benefits and being turned away, I was like WTF?!

I get that they don't want to promote living on benefits but making people believe that the benefits system assists no one is just ridiculous. If you're out of work and looking for a job, or you're too ill to work, you are entitled, and WILL get some kind of assistance.

And why was Joanie thanked for allowing Belle to stay there, when she is only staying there as Dan (or Kerrie originally) said she could, because of Kyle.

I thought Zak was an OAP, he looks and acts about 70 odd. How wrong can you be, he's only early 60's, same age as the new guy Frank?

Lisa worked and put money 'in the pot' to keep the family, and keep Zac in beer money. I presume Joannie is happy to keep him now she has won him. .It looks like a 2-bedroom cottage. What an ungrateful brat Belle is, ignoring her mother who has always supported her.

Yes, in real life it would be. I can't stand Belle now.

I am most likely in a minority but I have never been able to stand Belle!

Zak worked for Moira for a while. I' m guessing that with his recent health history and his age, employers aren't beating a path to his door, though.

I' ve gone right off her. Tonight she was acting like she was a ten year old and should be the centre of her Dad's world.

Belle is staying in Amelias room, they mentioned it this week. Kyle must be in with Zak and Joannie then Dan in another room so 3 bedrooms which is feasible if they are small rooms, 2 doubles with room just for bed and wardrobe and a box room with a single in.

I guess Joannie covers the rent from her factory money. Zak does also work at Home Farm and Butlers
