But what makes you think Ian hasn't got the qualifications? He is very much from the ballroom/Latin world - has danced both since he was a child; competed as both an amateur in both BB & Latin; turned pro and competed mostly in Latin. Since retiring from competition he has spent many an hour judging, etc.”

I didn't say he didn't have qualifications, I'm well aware of his qualifications, as of those of Karen Hardy.
My comment was that as much as I love Ian, I'd rather they got someone from the Ballroom/Latin competing world who wasn't a former professional.

We already have one judge who is gratuitously insulting, we don't need two.

I voted 'someone else'. However I would not rule out a former pro from the much earlier series as some are very respected judges now.

I would not object to Ian Waite.

I'd be quite happy with Karen. If it's someone else it should be a woman to balance the genders on the panel. Women make up 50% of the populution, and 50% of the competing couples, they should make up 50% of the judging panel. The dance world is not lacking in well qualified women.

But only make up 25% of the Strictly panel.

I voted Ian, I think he'd do a good job without going over the top and he knows what he's talking about, it might also be interesting to have the pov of a judge who knows what it's like to teach celebs. But I'd be happy with someone else as long as it's a good someone else. Really don't want to see Alesha, Jennifer Grey or Donny back. I don't want a big name. I want someone with big knowledge and experience of ballroom and Latin. Winning the show as a celeb doesn't count.

In that case I do apologise, I clearly misunderstood what you meant.

And as I said before, I agree, I too would prefer someone who wasn't a former strictly pro.

Karen Hardy is too full of herself. When she was partnered with Mark Ramprakash it was all about making her look good. He was a good dancer anyway and they won, but her speech was about her winning the trophy not Mark. Her second partner was Gary Rhodes who she seemed very dismissive of because he wasn't a natural dancer.

Why not promote Bruno to Head Judge, he's had the most experience on the panel and offer Anton or another professional dancer a new judging role.

out of this group Anton but doubt he could handle Craig and Bruno, so probably someone else.

I would like someone of Karen Hardy's ex dance career with years of dance experience in Latin and Ballroom (not other genres of dance), a world champion winner and with the ability to get get knowledge across in a charismatic manner. Karen is too lovey dovey in her approach. We already have Darcy who is nice, Bruno who can give good critique but is very excitable with it and Craig that is strict whilst giving good critique. I would like someone with a nice charisma that is fun, engaging but also serious in the sense that we actually learn something (celebs and viewers alike).

I need someone to be able to reel off the technical terms, because none of the other judges will able to do that so easily and readily. We need a technical judge, as the other three are aesthetic/performance judges by default, and then of course add what they can on the knowledge side. The new judge, for me, needs to be a technical judge by default as that would actually be his or her U.S.P.

I voted for Anton. Apart from a name change he is just a younger version of Len.

I voted for Anton, I think if he did get the job we would see a different side to him. Think he could handle Craig and Bruno. After all by next year he will be used to dealing with young children. Though I doubt Craig would want a twin like Bruno

If not Ian would be my next choice. As long as he can take his wand with him

I voted for "Someone else" as the show benefits from having someone from more a technical background. By all means have the other 3 judges being dazzled by the feel, musicality, armography etc, but we also need someone to bang on about heel leads etc

Anyone but Karen Hardy - she really irritates me (though I appreciate she at least has decent expertise)

I would vote for Brendan or someone new. I think he would be good as he would give a honest view of the dance, also he would appreciate how much effort they had put in as he will have been on the other side of the fence and has been in their dancing shoes . (literally )

Another option would be "anyone but Anton" as I'd have clicked that !

I would rather they have another man and woman to make five judges, one from a latin background and one from ballroom . Would get an automatic result in the dance off then.

Wouldn't really mind any of Ian/Anton/Karen but went with Karen as I like her segments on ITT. I wouldn't be happy with a non-ballroom/Latin specialist though. They need at least one on the panel imo.
