Is there an Adblocker for Google Chrome on iPhone 6?

Hi

I use adblocker on Safari on my iPhone 6 which works great but doesn't block the ads if I'm using google chrome.

Is there an alternative app for Chrome does anyone know? I've looked to no avail.

I dont use chrome on my iphone 6S as i find Safari does everything i need in a web browser, but can you not just go into adblocker in the settings menu(on the phone) and turn it on for chrome? id imagine that chrome would appear in the list if it is installed?

I've had a look at it seems you're currently unable to block adverts for Chrome in iOS at the moment.

I just don't see the advantage of using a different browser on iOS.

Aren't they just skins on top of Safari anyway, or have Apple changed the rules?

I think you're right, and I think all non Safari browsers have to use the slower javascript engine. However Chrome for iOS does include tools such as language translation that doesn't exist in Safari - and it syncs bookmarks.

But I don't bother with alternative browsers on iOS since filters were added to Safari.

I can only guess Apple changed the rules as Chrome and Opera are using Google's forked version of webkit Blynk and Firefox are still using their Gecko rendering on iOS too.

Since a certain man met his maker, iOS has progressively become more open in terms of different browsers, extensions, keyboards + more.

Browsers on iOS still use WebKit.

No, thanks but that doesn't seem to work...

Seems to be the case - unless anyone knows a way to the contrary? Thanks for the feedback all.

I'd have to agree. The plethora of content blockers available make other browsers largely redundant on iOS IMO.

I do understand what you're saying Jason & Icaraa. It's just, rightly or wrongly, I've always used Chrome and therefore have all my favourites stored etc on Chrome, and am consequently more dexterous using said browser.

I am just surprised an adblocker doesn't exist for Chrome (apparently).

There are a few adblockers that use their own VPN's to do the blocking so are browser independent. Weblock is one such one apparently, so that might be worth a try.

Ok I'll give that a whirl - cheers!

That's the only reason I have Chrome on my iPhone. I occasionally view Japanese language pages and I love the way Chrome automatically detects that and translates the whole page.
