I hate this story line. I really hate it when someone is wrongly accused of something and we all know the truth. It is beyond stupid that she would not be seen by someone entering and leaving Maria's flat. I really hope this story is not going to run and run like the damn Phelan plot. Does anyone know when it's coming to a conclusion?
Chrimbo day i think, surely can't keep it dragging on into next year

Seemed like Sophie got off lightly then who nutter Caz thought stole her girlfriend if shes will to do all this for someone who helped her out when no one else would.

Its mental though, what murderer would put the scissors back in their hairdressing set, dumb Maria though could of not touched them and proved Caz was to blame as I'm sure they'd have Caz's finger prints all over the handles

In the last 2 episodes we saw Caz watching them on the CCTV, then not long after Maria found the scissors and then the police turned up searching her flat. They didn't find the CCTV then?! Couldn't have been a very good search could it!

Unless I'm mistaken, wasn't it inferred last night that until the scissors were found Maria had no idea Caz had been in the flat & probably had no idea she still had a key, and certainly wouldn't be expecting her to come back to the scene of her crime & tamper with evidence!! Now she does know I would expect changing the locks will be a priority!!

Have to agree with comments about the horribly inept 'police searches!!' All Aidan did with Maria's hairdessing kit was chuck it under the table, if they'd found that with a pair of scissors missing & blood in the compartment where they were, then Maria would have been in big trouble before Monday's episode!!

I think I'd have had the locks changed before I even went away knowing how dangerous she could be, that she kept sticking around despite being told yo keave and that she was showing signs of obsessive attraction.

Did Caz ever officially give her key back to anyone to make Maria think that Caz couldn't access the flat? Of course even if she had given her key to say Audrey or Kirk there was nothing stopping her making a copy but as you say Caz was never the full deck anyway and the fact she wouldn't leave when asked should have made Maria think about changing her locks anyway

Is it possible Caz akways had money squirrelled away but pretended not to so as to elicit sympathy and get to stay first with Kate, then Sophie?

Also, she could have been withdrawing cash everyday on the card for a couple of weeks uo to the limit which is likely to be a few grand. She could easily make that last a few weeks.

What got me re the scissors is that she didn't use gloves so her fingerprints would be on the handles.

Maria stated she completed the application but didn't send it so she wasn't expecting a card in the post to look out for or tell Kirk to.
Wouldn't that appear on the CC statement, also state where withdrawals were made?
BIB I said pretty much the same on another thread, a tentative wipe with her sleeve

Yes. It's all getting very messy, this storyline. They'll need to wrap it up soon. The plot has more holes than a flamin colander. It's not a Whodunnit after all.
I expect it to fizzle out soon whimper style, with some half-baked confrontation between Maria and Caz, then oh, wait, what's this, and then the Hulk Hunk Aidan comes in, bursting his shirt buttons in an effort to save his lady love. While Eva pouts on the side lines.

And the stupid snarky copper, who seems to work every hour of the day, and hopes to bump into the exact person they want to talk to as they are walking about the Street...

Why didn't she hand in the scissors FGS? It's obvious that's going to come back and haunt her and as for Aidan, putting them in the nearest bin? What a plonker!

Its like they have just forgot about Kate hating Caz because Sophies gone until late Jan / early Feb and they have no other storyline for Kate until Sophie is back so they've put her back on Caz's side again.

Now that bit I can understand, given Maria's track record with Weatherfield's finest!!

She practically handed them Tony Gordon on a plate having workef out every detai, of his involvement in Liam's death but they send round a woman detective (a Scot to boot, like Tony) who is given a bit of Tony flannel, falls for it & announces he hasn't got a case to answer, telling Maria she'll be arrested if she keeps hassling him!! A year down the line after coming perilously close to drowning Roy, Tony hands himself in & confesses exactly what Maria said!!

FF two years, Maria is sexually assaulted by Frank Foster & tells the police (admittedly a few weeks later) & once again they send round a female officer who falls for Franks charms & lets him go, only to rape Carla a few months later!!

Now, when there's enough evidence to fit on the head of a pin & Maria has done nothing wrong they're all over her like a rash & trying desperately to pin a murder on her, despite the fact there's nothing to suggest Caz is even dead!!
Plus Eva's bright idea of confessing her sham marriage to make things better for herself was hardly a roaring success, so yeah I can quite understand why she didn't hand them the evidence that they would have used to confirm that she was a murderer & give them a nice easy conclusion to their investigation!!

I totally agree with all of this. That police woman (Miss Trunchball) is really annoying.

Eva's bright idea was characteristically dim, and Aidan is just as stupid, fancy dumping the scissors in the nearest bin possible. Twerp!

Only in soap land would a suspect hand the police a motive. If she's confessed to the sham marriage, and thereby the reason to do away with Caz, then what reason does she have to commit the crime weatherfield's finest are accusing her of

This storyline had the potential to be great

But as motives go, it's a bit OTT, surely?!

Looking at the design of the flat I've a feeling Caz is next door in the one above Street Cars.

You know, you are probably correct.

The same happened when Tracy Barlow was with Rob Donovan. Deirdre dotted on him, whereas Ken disliked him. But when Ken was written out for a year, Deirdre suddenly started disliking Rob (even saying she always never liked him), but when Ken returned she went back to being fine with Rob.

Hate when they do that, it's sloppy and inconsistent. Even Kate got told not long ago she hated Caz and she didn't seem too sure herself why she was so concerned for her, saying something like "well, um, I loved her at one point". Pity she never remembered that when treating Caz like someone that killed her pet.

I am interested in Caz's endgame. Does she intend to go into hiding forever?

They were but didn't they all move into Carla's flat a few months back?

No I think that was just Johnny Connor on his own.

If Maria had handed the scissors in to the police straightaway wouldn't they have been able to tell the blood had got on to them quite recently? It was still wet, so Caz must have been ok only hours before. Though I suppose they might think Maria had her imprisoned in a car boot or barn or somewhere

I was wondering about that. I bet the writers haven't given it a thought though. Caz will probably end up caught or dead so spending time on a detail like that would be a waste of effort

Caz is bonkers though - maybe she thinks Maria will forgive her and they'll ride off into the sunset together. Or that Kate will want to get back with her.
