Just for completeness, I thought I'd report back on our experiences, bearing in mind we only got Amazon Prime to watch The Grand Tour - nothing else on there is of any interest/relevance.

Episode 1 - watched using the FireStick on a weekday afternoon. Streamed OK, but had to be in HD (there's no way to "downgrade" to SD on the FireStick).

Episode 2 - watched on FireStick at our preferred time - Saturday evening. Problems with buffering (well, I assume it was buffering - the screen kept going black for about 30 seconds every 5 minutes or so and we had clearly lost a bit of the program each time it did so).

Episode 3 - watched Saturday evening streaming in SD to a laptop connected to TV. No problems with buffering, and the picture quality was acceptable.

In the absence of a "download to PC" option, which we could schedule for a non-busy time and do in HD, we'll stick with the stream to PC in SD route.

So - anyone want a second-hand FireStick...

Just got a question about it.
is the likes of
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bourne-Iden.../dp/B00FZR1EH6
free to watch to prime subscribers?

just asking as presently a sky user, but getting a bit p...d at sky wanting me to pay extra on top of my monthly all in subscription, (movies/sport/) for a 14yr old film

also what about newer films eg..
the ones in the .. Customers Who Watched This Item Also Watched.. on that page, are they free to prime watchers?

Bourne Identy is not free for Prime members. You can identify whether a film is available free on the prime service with watch with prime 0.00. Films that aren't avaible on the prime service have prices against them for SD and HD.

such a clunky interface on my Sony TV Amazon Prime app. It won't allow me to download a whole series, just one episode at a time. When I've watched it, I have to navigate back to the app menu to highlight and download (stream really) the next one. Am I being thick or is the only way to do it on a TV?
I don't watch on mobile as there are 2 of us watching (highly recommended series btw- The Bureau, free to Prime members).

I assume you can't cast it as Amazon doesn't support rival google tech?
