Ashley will remember before he dies and tell somebody. Sometimes, people's memories come back shortly before dying.

Very little focus is being given to Finn and Kasim. What was that ending on Friday? Finn saying no and walking off and Kasim following him out.

I don't think they feature all week now.

The pacing is rather annoying.

I heard Finn and Kasim are not in this week's cast list at all - can anyone confirm?

Damn that block storytelling!

It's back to Kerry and her annoying behaviour this week.

BIB - Don't think so - it seems to be Laurel/Ashley, the Bartons & Robron stuf taking center stage again this week

Also appalling as the last we saw of them was very open ended, with Kasim asking Finn back to his and him saying no then walking off. Don't like the way the story is being paced at all.

Oh.
I'd just seen spoilers about Kerry and assumed they were popping up because it was this week.
How embarrassing.

The pacing of the story is the least of its worries

Its a ridiculous plot for a start!

After weeks of nothing bar Finn talking to a comatose Kasim - we've suddenly been given a week where their behaviour & dialogue has reached "relationship" level

Add to that - ED's social media sites promoting the hell out of this pairing - even to the point of asking social media whether they want to see them as a couple.

It leads me to the question - is this just the show trying to piggyback on the m/m shipping fandom that they have already captured with the fanfiction Robron pairing by intruducing a 2nd gay coupling in the hope that they might develop a 2nd "voting fanbase" for the show to capitalise on come voting-time for soap awards.

At the moment - there seems little genuine or honest or authentic about the way this storyline has been developed - some of the dialogue between them was so "twee" it could have come straight out of a teenage romance novel

Anyhoo - spoilers suggest that
Spoiler
Kasim sticks around and ends up spending Xmas with the Bartons.

Clearly his lack of backstory i.e - it appears he dropped out of the sky and has no connections of life beyond the crash - has been left open ended so that the show can drop the character or develop him as they see fit.

Maybe all of you who want to see Kasim stick around should start an appreciation thread - set up some tumblr fan pages and constantly tweet the show about how much you "love" them

So by that you mean lots of Robron and lots of Laurel/Ashley with a handful of scenes from the Bartons.

I'm really bored of the show now, Robert and Aaron along with Liv just bore the shit out of me. Its hard for me to get invested in the Ashley storyline aswell, as I can't stand Laurel, and I've never been fussed about Ashley (although John Middleton is an incredible actor).

Having said all of that, I'd take that crap over Kerry and Dan any day.

I just find the whole idea of a character being a blank slate, who is able and wiiling to relocate to the village in the name of the love, at a moment's notice, to be really silly. They did it with Ronnie and now Kasim. Does Kasim really have NO ties - no friends who who would help him, if his family have cut him off. He's very healthy and happy for someone who appears to be friendless, in pain and has been in a coma for several weeks. Nice to see someone so resilientMany if us would-be lying in a darkened room for weeks but Kasim' s happily bunked up in a B&B in a strange place, starting a new relationship, and probably working in the pub, cafe, garage or shop before long. He's s clearly a glass half-full kinda guy

Tis a bit weird that he seems to have no backstory. Bringing new characters in who were properly fleshed out was one thing Madam Oates did well, but they never bother on Hollyoaks, it's always back of a Rizla packet stuff. Kasim's probably says "Cute. Great hair."

I can see they might want to keep their options open, but it must be hard for an actor to come in and try to do anything with no proper characterisation. Maybe there is some deep dark story that's been sketched out, but I don't get much feel for it now.

I quite like the guy, such as he is, he's got potential. But no, I am not going on tumblr to declare my lurve. What will be will be.

Also, as I've just read that the forums are migrating and the emojis will change and cat dog will be no more, I must just do this.

So what are we supposed to think is occurring this week between Finn and Kasim? Will they spend the entire five days going from cafe to pub to cafe to pub....

Perhaps a course in the Barton family history? It would certainly be an interesting discussion...

In that case Finn had better take his cue from Laurel and lock poor Kasim in

We're being migrated, Glenda. Check out the pinned tweet at the top of the soap forums. It'll be a brave new world with a working search function and extra fol de rols and different emojis.

A whole week with no Finn and Kasim? Noooo

I do agree that Kasim has arrived rather randomly, but I am enjoying this story more from Finn's point of view at the moment. Finn is one of my favourite characters in Emmerdale, he feels like one of the more 'real' characters, he's a genuinely nice character who is easy to care about. So I'm really happy for him that he seems to have found someone who will genuinely enjoy being in his company.

I trust that Kasim's character will become more fleshed out over time.

Is Kasim a regular character? If so then that has got to be the wierdest introduction to a regular character in any soap ever.

He's also clearly not short of a bob or two <<<<(money for those too young to recognise this phrase) if he can just afford to pay rural B&B prices everynight for the forseeable without even having to consider it

Exactly, and it's a pretty fancy B&B at that. It's s not like it's a room above a pub or in someone's s house, it's more like a hotel. Maybe their off peak rates are really good

Where does one find the cast list anyway? I know for EastEnders they are just on the website, but don't know how you get them for the ITV soaps. Thanks in advance to anyone that can answer

Seriously I looked up some B& B s in Stirling which has a HUGE tourist market and even at this time of year they' re charging £35 a night. Not expensive by any means but you wouldn't stay long term! I would imagine Eric classes his place as boutique and charges about £ 100 a night

Well he did donate the lights to the village didn't he?
Although I'm sure that was after he tried to extort money out of the residents for them...

I think they do actually call it a boutique, I'm sure that was what Val was on about when they were in the running for best B&B/Hotel thing whatever it was.
