I like the idea of Finn visiting Kasim as he helped him in the crash and wants to make sure he is ok. And if nobody else is visiting him then he probably feels bad for Kasim so keeps going back.
But the fact he fancies him and is wondering if he is gay is creepy. Would he be visiting still if the person in a coma was female, an older male, or a less attractive male? I would prefer Finn just to be visiting because it is a nice thing to do, then when Kasim wakes up they build up a friendship which may later become romantic. |

If they're putting this much emphasis on Kasim, then he's probably going to be both. He's obviously someone who witnessed Emma pushing James to his death and could be her downfall (if Ashley doesn't turn out to be) and may at some point become a love interest for Finn. Although that could be a little awkward.

I have been trying to think of the name of that movie since this Finn story started so thanks
![]() I don't see how this is going to work out in Finn's favor, How does he even know this guy is gay? Did he have a rainbow or HRC bumper sticker on his car? ![]() Finn is doing something that in psychology I believe they call transference (well kind of but not quite) His Dad died in this horrible accident and so he is channelling that need for his Dad to survive onto the stranger he saved, in his mind it will likely make it less of a tragedy or dull the pain of his loss, it's likely he is also using it as a way of not having to deal with his Dad's death. It's not like he is just going there to size this guy up as a dating prospect. EDIT: I had only seen up to Tuesdays episode of this week when I wrote this- I've since been told Finn has out right stated a more than friends interest in him- so much for my deep analysis of Finn ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Why does he need to know if the guy is gay? Finn isn't thinking of having a romantic relationship with this guy (though being a soap it could develop to that)

Yes he is, Finn is clearly interested in him. Why do you think he was asking Aaron and Victoria if the guy having a Kylie Minogue CD made him gay?

Well I should have clarified I have not watched Wednesdays or Thursdays yet- my opinion was based on what I had seen up to that point.

Ok I got you.
But how can you like someone you've never even spoken to. For all Finn knows this guy could be Emmerdale's next serial killer ![]() |

I could see Finn thinking dude is hot, but according to the nurse he's been visiting him everyday and the fact that he wants to know if the guy is gay or not shows he wants something more.
It can be said of anyone you meet, when you go on a first date with a guy off Tinder or whatever, how the hell do you know if he's a serial killer or not? It's only 3 months later when you're hanging off a meat hook, semi conscious, with him sticking your own toenails down your throat while he drains your blood that you think....'oh shit!' |

True! But Finn is generally a really nice lad, he's a bit wet but essentially he tries hard to be good to people, and always tries to do the right thing. He's polar opposite to Aaron and Robert and most people see him as just dull.
I agree with the other poster who mentioned that Finn would in reality be quite unlucky in love, he's just not got any edge to him and whilst on paper, he's actually a decent catch, in reality he'd be a bit of a doormat to most other gay men. Aaron is an example of this, he seduced Finn and got what he wanted from him then was actually quite cruel in how he cast him aside. I'd actually quite like to see Finn develop his own business and have success in that way, and find an equally succesful and loving partner. I'm not sure we've ever had a professional, decent, stable gay couple in ED before?! I don't find this story creepy at all by the way! Jeez, Finn's in a vulnerable state, has spent time by the guy's bed feeling lonely and pouring out his heart, and now he's noticed the guy is cute, give him a break. It's not like he's started looking under the covers or anything, he's not Lachlan. ![]()

That would be ace - no they've not really done that, except with Paul and his partner, but that was an exit story really. Doubt if Finn will be allowed though, you know, what with the A Gays having to be the main focus.

![]() ![]() ![]() I agree - he's not Lachlan by any stretch. And I think he's aware he's likely not going to be gay and will be okay with that entirely. I guess it's the not knowing. I think the attachment is natural given his vulnerable state but he'd never take it to psychotic levels. At the least I hope Kazim can be a good friend to him, he could do with a few more! Would be nice to see him... gasp... smile?!! ![]()

Poor Finn - his best hope for a relationship is to sit in the room with a guy in a coma and "fantasise" about what might be.
Will he still be visiting this guy-in-a-coma in 6 months time - probably knowing Finn's luck with guys ![]() I did laugh at Aaron's comment about it being creepy - no creepier than getting married to a guy who tried to kill all your nearest & dearest I'd say

I suppose it has only been a few weeks but I don't appreciate Emmerdale making us wait for this one.

Aaron has always treated Finn like a joke. He wasn't really being helpful and giving him advice, he was just having a laugh at Finn's expense.
