I don't see the point of pointing out hypocrisies on soap.

As has pointed out many times, most people are guilty of being hypocritical, and as a result I'd say nearly all soap characters are guilty of it.

Look at Diane yesterday, going on about the White's being criminals and whatnot, next scene she's throwing a brick through the window!

I'm surprised Rebecca hasn't reminded Chrissie that she is not Larry's real daughter, the way her and Lucky were telling her to go was disgraceful

I do think the truth needs to out at some point as whatever you think of Katie she was a regular character for 15 years and a fairly likeable one. Chas's acceptance of 'Robron' after it is ridiculous.”

Yes, his reaction was chilling. I don't t think he intentionally killed her but it didn't t bother him that he had.

no he should be stoned to death for robbing the viewing public of Katie's Chesticles, being lumbered with Aaron isn't punishment enough in this poster's humble opinion

He was responsible. I was just trying to highlight that he didn't cold bloodily kill her like Cameron did with Gennie for example.

With Katie and Robert, they had a tense confrontation (which she was just as responsible for it taking place) and then of course he pushed her and her going through the floor and breaking her neck was a freak incident/tragedy.

I'm not trying to say Rob is a saint- far from it, He had previously threatened her life, blew up hers and Andys caravan, shot Paddy, threatened to kill Leo and Rhona and then tried to bump Paddy off in a grain silo lol

So yeah- he is a bad guy lol

I agree. It's like one rule for them and another for outsiders. I have a feeling that the White family will get their comeuppance not far in the future.

That's fair enough, but there's one thing different in Robert's case. He has never had any comuppance or punishment for his many, many crimes. Other characters do some pretty bad things but their always pulled up on it, every tiny little thing they do gets found out pretty quickly and comes back to bite them on the arse, yet everything Robert does gets brushed under the carpet. Why? You can bet your life savings that Emma is going to be found out and made to face the consequences for pushing James. Chrissie has already been found out for framing Andy. Lucky got pulled up on what he did to Alicia. So why exactly has Robert not been found out for killing Katie? Or arranging to kill Chas? And Paddy? Why does he get a free pass? Until ED sort this out I'm not going to stop bleating on about it. Ever.

And for everyone saying Robert only pushed Katie, not he didn't, he threw her backwards on to a floor he knew wasn't safe.

I really despise both Chrissie and that vile son of hers right now.

His attitude is disgusting, because she manages to get round everything he does wrong, he has no remorse for anything he has done.

They both deserve for them to be found out and wipe that smug look of their faces!

When Chrissie found out that Lachlan had sexually assaulted Alicia, she reported him to the police. When she found out he had shot Lawrence, she covered it up and is doing whatever she can to stop the police finding out. Why the change?

And tonight's line where she mocked Val's death - she would NEVER have done that last year. She was completely overcome with guilt for causing the helicopter crash that killed her, was extremely sorry and confessed to the police pretty much straight away. But going from tonight, it sounded like that she's not sorry at all!

It's terrible writing. This is what I'm loathing about Emmerdale lately. Characterisation has gone to pot

Well as has already been said they don't know that Robert killed Katie so they actually aren't being hypocrites on this occasion. Anyway the title of biggest hypocritical family ever on Emmerdale clearly belongs to the Dingles. I was watching some old episodes recently and there was a classic example of this when Chas was warning Aaron to keep away from Robert because he was a disgusting human being as he was having an affair (no one knew who with at this stage) according to her bessie Katie The utter bare faced cheek of the woman.

Exactly I couldn't stand Katie and didn't have a clue as to why she was so determined to catch Robert out. Why was she so concerned that he was having an affair Did she still fancy him herself or something

Very true. That is what makes Robert so detestable to me. He never gets a comeuppance. I don't count the shooting as comeuppance since he did not die.

Hmm I'm really not enjoying the character assassination of Chrissie. What happened to the tousle haired, fluffy jumpered Daddy's girl who first arrived?

I always really liked Chrissie and even defended her after the helicopter crash. Tonight she was absolutely disgusting and it was completely out of character.
