I might have missed something tonight but ......

Sarah was working in the Rovers then went to the flat.

Bethany was at the shops and getting the flat ready for her and Gary.

Gail and Micheal were in the Rovers while he was playing poker (not a 5 min game)

David had gone to Audreys to let the police in to search the place (not a 5 min job)

So who was looking after Max...Lilly...and Harry??

They were all left on their own watching CBeebies

Next episode. The Social workers come to collect the kids to put them into care and David decides to kill himself again. But this time when he crashes, the car explodes and Anna Windass arms are set on fire just when she gets home from the Hospital

Isn't Max like 10 now? He could realistically look after Lily by himself, now Harry is still very young so that might be a stretch

They can't have been on their own, David going to the Salon is fair enough but he went to the rovers and not home!

Maybe a Audrey was at his with the kids and left him to deal with the police at the salon

applies to Eastenders as well - kids just seem to be something they can get out of the cupboard when they fit into the filming - and back into the cupboard when it suits them - which is most of the time. I mean, the times we see them without kids, with no explanation of where they are, who look after them etc. - as if they don't exist

I don't think Corrie can be arsed with details these days, everything about it is cheap these days , they take the viewers as simpletons imo, its the same with the time of the day , things happen at unrealistic times, it can be morning in one scene and night time in another without the sky changing , people are having parties in the Bistro in the afternoon in mid week when they should be at work , then in the next scene we see them at work , i love playing the "guess what time of day and what day it actually is on Corrie" game

My old man is always asking this question. I guess you have to fill in the gaps yourself somehow.

Fiz? She seems to be the resident child minder now.

However, did Sarahs shift and Gail being in the pub happen at the same time as David wsa at the salon? He could have been back at the house before Gail and Michael went out.

All soaps are guilty of this. It happens almost on a weekly basis. The reality is soap kids are not full time actors so naturally there are weeks when they are unavailable for filming.

Its not easy for soaps to juggle storylines around actors who aren't always available. This has been going on for decades though, lets not pretend its a new occurrence.

Soap kids are born with the ability to look after themselves at birth. Jack Webster has been alone for weeks now with Kevin at the hospital and Sophie in London.

I would imagine though that Kevin has some kind of childminder though? Jack will be at full time school now surely? The majority of the school day, Kevin and Sophie are at the garage together, so I guess a childminder collects him and takes care of him until they both get home? I dont' see Kev shutting early or Sophie popping off to collect him so it's the only logical explanation.

Which is exactly why they shouldn't have kids in soaps.

Yes you'd think Sophie would come home early as Anna is so poorly to help her Dad out. Unless nobody has told her about Anna.

In the UK children under 12 can't be left alone.

I was also wondering this as well?

Maybe Audrey or Fiz.

Or maybe Martin returned for a short time.

God I hope not!! My niece is 10 and isn't even allowed to walk home from school alone.

I don't think it's commonplace at all for children to be left alone. I'd actually be mortified to see David leaving Max left in charge of Lily, there are so many dangers in the home.

Actually thats not true, there is no legal age limit. The law just states it us an offence to keave them if they could endanger themselves and parents must judge their maturity re things like understanding cookers, not to let strangers in etc.

There are however guidelines from organisations like the NSPCC which state that generally a child under 12 wouldn't be considered mature enough to fully be safe and it should be.left till 16 before leaving them overnight.

As said though they are guidelines, not law.

For the record though, I wouldn't leave a 10 year old alone i n a house, let alone looking after a toddler and bsby.
