Just like to add my pennyworth.

I know this is going back a few weeks but was it really necessary for Karren to remind Rhod and the rest of us that only she can call Lord Sugar 'Alan.' Claude doesn't seem to find it necessary point this out.

Until then I didn't mind her tough persona. Maybe she thought she was being funny. Personally, I found it extremely arrogant.
"Alan to me, Lord Sugar to you" is a running joke. It might not be much of a joke but it is.

Keep on? Karren said it only once to Lord Sugar who, remember, does not see the task footage or Karren's interviews to camera. If Karren does seem to repeat herself in different contexts, that is the editor's fault, not hers. In the boardroom, it went:

Lord Sugar: I would like to meet these people who thought it was a great event sitting and watching a mermaid singing.
Karren: You also sang, didn't you Dylan?
[Dylan starts to reply]
Karren: It's not as bad as it sounds, it was actually much worse.
Lord Sugar: I'm trying to visualise this.
Karren: Don't. It was like Carry On at the Aquarium.
Dylan: Probably, yes.

Later, after a discussion of the tour, Karren told Dylan: You were life and soul of the party, that's for sure.
She made that normally positive statement sound like an insult.

I remember she said it last year to Jack but somehow it was different. This time Rhod looked quite taken aback and embarrassed

I get the impression that Karren is fulfilling a brief.
Your feeling is incorrect.

She is a nasty, vicious arrogant individual who chooses to crush and humiliate other human beings in a way that is totally uncalled for.

But only when it is prejudged by many - which it often is.

Your view is wrong.
Are you two sharing notes behind the scenes?

She's an awful human being. Her comments and energy really bring the show down. She is just such a b****. And not even in a funny way! She HAS got to go.

I went by the delivery and flatness with no hint of humour in it. If I'm being generous maybe she's trying to do deadpan humour but failing.

My husband said that Rhod could have replied “As a TV license payer I can call him Alan, or even Sugar Tits, if I want to"!

Better that than the other "advisors" - all of whom are sycophantic.

Agree with those who feel Karren's getting worse - I've always found her absolutely fine, but this year, she looks like she's permanently sucking a lemon. And I found her particularly harsh (but not fair) on Dillon.

Maybe, as she knew he had led the winning team, she had been briefed to up the tension so viewers (and candidates) would be sure Dillon's team had won.

I always expected Claude to be very strict and foreboding when he first became an advisor, having seen him in the scary interviews. But he's much more mellow as an advisor, so maybe Karren has been asked to move to the dark side!

She's definitely gotten more sour over the years. She was very condescending towards Alana a few weeks ago.

She also give Alana a backhanded compliment and give her advice to stand up for herself.

And this week she as good as said that without Alana they would have lost the task.

I have to regrettably agree with the OP. I have always liked Karren, and had a lot of respect for her, but all she is now, is a nasty vitriolic poison-tongued b1tch. Seems like she wants to be a bit of a 'bad cop,' with a sharp, but slightly hilarious tongue; like Simon Cowell, Jeremy Clarkson, Piers Morgan, or Alan Sugar himself. They make mean and sarcastic comments, but you can't help but laugh. Karren - I feel - is trying to be like this, but is just coming across as a nasty cow.

I hate myself for saying this, but women being 'bad cops' and being sarcy and rude and issuing put-downs just doesn't work. They come across as nasty, and not funny in the slightest. There are some wonderful, hilarious females in showbiz who come out with great one-liners, great comedy, and great sarcasm; but this trying to be like the men who are 'bad cops' just doesn't work. Women are good at a lot of things, including satire, but what she is doing (trying to emulate her sarcy, sharp-tongued male colleagues) is NOT working!

Stop it Karren FFS. Just be yourself, like you used to be.

I've said it on here before: she's even said to a (paying) business live audience, Alan to me Lord Sugar to you while wafting her hand around to show she was referring to the audience...there weren't many laughs from the audience and quite right. She's a hypocrite time and time again also. In her Sun column last week, she wrote about how wrong it was for men to control their women's weight. She must have forgotten last year she said in the Daily Mail "my husband calls me the Pillsbury dough." She is a hypocrite over sexism and was an embarrassment in the celeb apprentice, where Alistair Campbell wiped the floor with her in negotiations.....yet she is critiquing negotiation tasks!!!!!. Overrated and very lucky to have so many rich and powerful friends.

Eh? You dislike Karren so much that you pay to see her live, and read her columns in the Sun and the Mail (and take notes)?

Where does it state I saw her live? Quite honestly, I think your obsession with her is unhealthy. You clearly adore her....well I and many others don't. I don't just have to read columns from ppl I like.

I remember - and I think I've brought this up before - that in series six, when the girls were arguing, Karren stopped them and chimed in, saying "can I just say something?" before criticising the girls in a calm and orderly manner, which I think was a much better way of being an advisor. Granted, it may be a bit sweet, and may not make for the best television, but it's certainly better than what Karren does now.

I haven't minded her in the past (though I still miss the Blessed Margaret) but she definitely seemed to have got out the wrong side of the bed this week.... her comments to Dillon were unnecessarily mean.

After all, none of the punters objected to Dillon's singing enough to demand a refund!

The thought of Karren in bed sends shivers up your spine. Poor old Paul Peschisolido facing that level of sourness every morning.

Karren was right that Dillon's singing added to the shambolic tone of the event, and that it was a kids' party for adults.

Karren was wrong because that is precisely why the punters did enjoy it, quite possibly after a cold, refreshing drink or three to loosen them up. The abundant free, good quality canapes may have been a masterstroke because it gave them their money's worth. Contrast that with the other team where the customers were first ripped off with the canapes and then nickle-and-dimed (as the Americans say) for the hot food.

Karren was right that Dillon was the life and soul of the party.

When she said it was like a kids' party for adults, my immediate reaction was "And what's wrong with that?!"

Could be loads of fun if done properly and you're in the right mood!

Dillon - and they others - were lucky that they had Alana because as well as the food she pointed out faults with the ludicrous ideas that the Brains Trust had come up with.
