I had to laugh at the moment when Karen was sneering at Courtney about the fact that people wouldn't know how to pronounce his brand name and so the product wouldn't be successful, and Courtney pointed out that most people don't know the correct way to pronounce 'Nike' – Karen immediately shit up and had to sit there with a face like she was sucking a lemon, as she knew she'd been proved wrong. Ha!
The problem with the name giin is that if it is pronounced wrongly as "gin" then the customer seems to be ordering a generic gin. It is not like Nike or Nike at all -- it is like Nike or "running shoes". Worse, even when pronounced correctly, it can easily be misheard in a noisy bar as the generic "gin".

So Karren was right.

Whichever candidate wins, Karren will be eating humble pie; she's managed to have unnecessary digs at both of them, especially Courtney.

Broadening it out from just Karren Brady. I felt a bit uncomfortable watching the interviews, probably because this year's bunch are so utterly clueless even in comparison with recent years.

It often amounted to Claude (in particular) and the others bullying a bunch of basically nice-but-dim young people for our amusement, which isn't very BBC. The aggressive Londoner eliminated earlier would probably have walked out or thumped Littner.

She will? Are you going to serve it to her?

I take it you did not watch the programme about the candidates.

Karrent accentuated the positive skills of all of them but Claude but many dampeners on.

If the interviews weren't like that it would be dull. The whole point is to critique their business plans and personal failings. If the criticisms were unfounded then I'd agree it was going too far. But year after year candidates submit plans and CVs which are full of exaggerations. That has to be exposed by the interviewers.

I disagree - the bullying word is thrown about far too much - Of course it's entertainment - it's a TV show, but grilling candidates & pulling them over mistakes, exaggeration & bullshit is not bullying, when looking at a quarter of a million pound investment it's justified.
