Ok first off, i don't think theyd make Peter a pervert, even tho Tina was younger, putting him with Bethany is wayyyy too far. what is she like 16? so shes only just the age of consent. yeah ok shes very old looking (imo anyway) but we know Bethany is meant to b a teenager so it would b really wrong. it would destroy Peter's character probably. and Bethany is only like 3 yrs older than Peter's own kid Simon (i read Bethany was born 2000 and Simon 2003) so yeah

as for the scene last night, i don't think it meant anything. it could of been any character asking her if she's ok, and it just happened to b Peter. probably just random character interaction or something. i remember once there was a scene where Faye asked Peter what time it was (think she was meeting Tim) and nothing happened with those two so yeah i think it was just random character interaction

You make a good point about character interaction. Under Oates there has been more random meetings of characters that don't mean anything; this is fairly new. It makes the whole thing ensemble less contrived but will lead to some wacky theories

No I didn't mean it in a predatory way I meant Peter would be offer to listen and comfort her and they would develop a friendship that would eventually lead to something romantic.

I don't know if it's Daddy Issues although she's never had a father figure for long as her father Neil Fearns died in 2003, and Sarah's had many relationships after she was born which has never lasted like Glen Midddleham, Luke Ashton, Todd, Aiden Critchley, Scooter, Jason, Roberto and a footballer (both off screen), Callum and now she's dating Gary.

Todd and Jason were both the closest she had to a real father figure with Jason being the longest father relationship (on screen) Bethany's had between 2005-2007

I would say many, if not most teenage girls find boys of their own age immature, both physically and emotionally. They want to be older, they dress older, wear make up to look older and they want to date older men rather than boys. Beth any is no different but because there is such a small age gap between her and her Mum, this means the men she's interested in are closer to her Mums age than hers. If I'd fancied somebody 10 years older than me they'd still have been 25 years younger than my mum, that isn't the case here.

If Bethany keeps doing this, flirting with older men, finally one will respond as she is very pretty and attractive. But given her experiences have made her vulnerable as well as barely legal, any man that did respond would be seen as predatory and taking advantage. Therefore, it can't really be a long term character as it would taint them. Much more likely they'd bring a new character precisely for that storyline.

Random as it was I don't think it's suggesting a pairing. Soaps aren't usually particularly subtle when they decide to pair two characters off. Look at what they're doing with Michelle and Robert...they're practically shoving the suggestion they're going to get together in our faces.

Peter would've stopped for a chat if they were planning a liaison for him and Bethany.

I've always half expected Peter to get together with Tracey, and that's not half as ridiculous as pairing him with a kid like Bethany.

wouldn't Toyah have told Leanne that she was dating Peter though? I also thought Leanne had gone to visit Toyah recently IMHO Toyah and Peter having a secret relationship off screen doesn't make sense.
