I am very sad to learn that Robert has passed away.

I most recently remember him as Sylvia's love interest in Corrie a few years ago and before that my favourite Grifter in Hustle.

Very sad, RIP

Sad news, I used to like Hustle.

I don't recall The Man From U.N.C.L.E. but I do recall The Protectors from the 70's that Robert starred in, then more recently The Hustle and of course his cameo in Corrie.

A fabulous actor with longevity, it certainly has been a crap year for celebrity deaths, sadly as years go by it'll only get worse as our childhood heroes pass

I remember him as Napoleon Solo in The Man from Uncle with David McCallum's Illya Kuryakin

It is very sad, indeed it seems the grim reaper is very hungry this year

Absolutely lea, have loved Corrie for years and have watched and researched the show's history right back to day one. I first lost interest in the show around 2010/early 2011 after the tram crash and during Tracy's return. I switched off completely until I started watching again in early 2013 for a few months (I was interested by the arrival of Michelle Collins) so saw some of Sylvia. She was a decent character played by a very good actress but I didn't really 'connect' with her in the way that other viewers seem to have done.

Id have spent my dinner money on either of them
