Aron's scenes with babies / kids serve the same purpose for his fans that those with Ross do ”

Marrying, or intending to marry, or getting together with, unlikely people, nasty people or violent people is par for the course in soaps. Debbie & Cameron, Debbie & Ross, James & Emma (for the second time), Chas & Carl, Cain & Charity (for how many times?!), Cain & Moira, Aaron & Jackson, Andy & Katie (for the second time). Such stories are good for character development, or character confirmation, depending upon how they go.

Aaron has a long history of being good with babies, children and young people: Leo, Jackson's baby half brother, Liv, Johnny (when Adam was thought to be the father), Belle and Sean Spencer come to mind, there may well be more. So, with Aaron, it feels more natural and more in character, as far as I'm concerned.

Leo - really - when was the last time we saw them together or Aaron referenced him - the last time I remember it being referenced was when Aaron didn't turn up to his birthday party
Jackon's brother - oh yeah - a one episode wonder where he got the "Ross" treatment <rollseyes>
Liv - yep - he's great with her - let's her get away with pretty much everything
Johnny - when did Aaron ever share a scene with that kid
Belle - oh yeah - we'll forget about him getting her into trouble when he went thieving with her at Home Farm
Sean Spencer - yep - another "Ross" moment when he swooped in as the hero and then they never shared a scene again.

Its amazing what rose-tinted spectacles do for you - I'm guessing you get yours at the same place as the Ross fans you constantly harangue on here

I understand Joe sticking with the show but it must be so infuriating not getting any storylines when I'm sure he is a pretty good actor

We get to peek into the life of the fictitious village of Emmerdale, its inhabitants and those that pass through for something under three hours per week, which is less than three percent of the waking time of the residents in a week. So we're never going to see everything are we?

We see what the show wants us to see and the rest is left to our imagination. It's a bit like an impressionist painting, but one constructed of relatively large blobs of paint. So we don't get to be reminded day by day, week by week, what the various interactions are. There's just not enough time. It's left to our imagination to fill in the gaps from the relatively sparse infomation that we receive.

I've never been blind to Aaron's faults, they are legion. I still like him, but I don't excuse him, and I don't present him as the best thing since sliced bread. What I do try to do is to bring a sense of balance.

Sharma's Pure Confectionery Company, what a shining example of 21st century British Enterprise.

Don't employ a professional sales force. Use prostitutes to obtain the orders, and you can then blackmail the client to keep repeating the order, or else!

Brilliant.

Chrissie is one of the worst soap bitches I think I have ever seen. It stands out as contrived and she is too knowingly panto. She's no Kim Tate that's for sure.

What she said about Val was vile but the full effect of the scene wasn't reached due to Louise Marwood's limited acting and the fact it jarred completely, as others have said, with her previous stance on the accident.

I can't even buy that she's been driven to behave like this as everything is too knowing with her. She's appallingly written.

Morning Oldnjaded

Warning Kwynne will be around this evening on Babysitting duty, still at least I will know who is voted out of strictly and not have to wait and be all tense watching the results show tomorrow heh.

Still New TV less since the Tesco Salford TV was sold out and Trafford Centre was a bust, boy are the Tv's in John Lewis expensive.

So the choice no is either take your advice and go online, boy the £100 24 in tv I saw in Tesco Irlam this morning or go to Cash Converter in Salford and get the one going for £49, but who wants a second hand or reconditioned TV that's probably won't last a year

Spectacular bad acting from Diane actress, she really needs that 3 months break she takes annually and then add another 3 years.

Hi kwynne, what a miserable morning.

I certainly wouldn't go for a recon tv, just too risky. I really think you have to be dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century and think about buying online. It really is perfectly safe and in the unlikely event of something going wrong your bank or credit card company have to refund the money. Or get a decent sized one in Tesco or wherever and pay a few quid to have it delivered. It's just crazy to try and carry any tv on a bus.
