It's slightly repetetive, but what are they supposed to say? "I can't stand my costume, my feet are killing me and the dart-throwing monkeys have shafted me with the music."?

I can accept that dancing is fun, certainly if you don't enjoy dancing then don't do it because it becomes pointless. But I do get a little annoyed - just a little teeny bit, you understand - when they say "We're having so much fun...." making it sound as if that is a reason they should be kept in the show! |

Be interesting to see what reaction they got from the voting viewers if they did!

It's probably a bit hard to know what to say sometimes, I think a lot of the time they're asked a question or stuck in front of a camera and told to talk about Strictly. If they get told 'tell the public why you want to be here next week' there's not much else they can say except that they're having fun. They can't say they want to be here because they deserve it. Saying they're having fun also implies that they appreciate the votes that are keeping them in. But they could try saying it in a different way.
only will young didn't seem to want to play the 'game'...and that ended well!!

Wonder how that went down. Mmmm. Notice they are still dancing to it though.

Dancing is fun! . I did eventually, after I had left school, manage to strangle me way through a waltz and a quickstep but I was never confident on the dance floor |

What do you expect them to say?
"We are having a f*cking awful time, I hate this place, the judges, the whole thing is a glittery piece of crud, I'm only doing this to promote myself and get money. I couldn't be bothered about anything else" ?

Anyone else old enough to remember Stephaine Beacham's closing speech when she was evicted "Thank you for voting me off the show" and she meant it too

Not for me it wasn't! It was compulsory at my school... every Wednesday afternoon the boys came over from their school and a very effeminate dancing master with a butch woman in tow took us through ballroom. I had, and still have, 2 left feet no sense of rhythm and little appreciation of music. The only light spot in an otherwise horrid afternoon was watching the man's toupee gradually slip sideways and hoping it would one day fall off

It's not the 'We are having so much fun' line that is the issue. It is the inconsistency of how it is regarded by the public. It's like anything done or said.
When one celebrity or pro says such a thing it is pure, genuine and lovely. When another one says such a line it is disingenuous, desperate, and annoying piffle. I'll get my coat .

I want a departing celeb, just once, to say " I'm really pi**ed to be leaving, xxxxx is much worse than me, 'snot fair!"

It'd be brilliant wouldn't it? I mean in some ways it'd be terrible but ooo GLITTER FIGHT!
Aplogies. I've a feeling he who shall not be named may end up becoming the new Godwin's Law. |

Here Stephanie's exit interview : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcKSv1ALRCU
ITT exit interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvuTEGfpd7U I loved her she's fab. Sadly I can't find the footage of Jan's exit because it really has to be seen to be believed. |
