Personally I didn't like Belinda but it does make you wonder what SOC is playing at?

She had a personality a style about her everything was right with her character. I was looking forward to her meeting Max. Also we really need some casting news after loosing Belinda tonight many people must be eager to hear casting news so that we know the future of EE is safe.

Felt bad for Stacey too. Belinda added some excitement in her life I think.

Why do we need casting news? I quite like the surprise element of new characters and unexpected departures like we got tonight with Belinda exit.

I don't think it was confirmed that Belinda was a permanent character and I presume she was on a fixed-term contract and O'Connor decided not to renew her contract. It appears to me he is not too fond of the new Slaters. Belinda became one of my favourite characters and whilst I have been very vocal about her gold-digging status, personally, I enjoy the character and think it's a mistake if she has been axed/her contract has not been renewed.

I hope she comes back some day. She has the potential to be a brilliant character

I agree with you on the element of surprise but i think after tonight the show feels quite empty we have lost quite a character and at least SOME news of any kind would be welcome right now obviously not like DTC with everything spoiled but we need something.

She was an alright character, nothing amazing imo and I won't miss her.

Carli has opened a vintage shop recently which will no doubt be a full time career for her. She seems very psssionate about it. I expect she asked to be written out with a view to becoming a recurring character in the future.

I don't. I'm loving the lack of news and spoilers. Let's live in the day and enjoy it as it happens rather than worry about knowing the future.

Have to say - SOC is doing an incredible job in keeping everything quiet. Has the cast and crew been threatened with the boot if stuff leaks out? I don't mean that nastily - in any other job confidentially is normally a given.

Babe, Claudette, Les, Pam, Masood, Ronnie, Roxy, Lee, Belinda and Kyle makes for a hefty number of departures. Add in Linda and Sonia's temp. exits and the cast really is shrinking!

I absolutely loved Belinda and am well gutted she is gone she Bought a real spark to the Slater unit . She had so much potential to be a long standing and very popular character, if she was axed then this is probably the one axing I disagree with

By next year we will only have Denise and Annoying Vegan and Phil at thia rate.

I feel this was more of Carli's choice rather than SOC's magic axe. I loved Belinda and hope she makes a few more recurring appearances.

It was weird, although pleasing, that they didn't write Belinda out with Masood (or at least as a couple). It looks like they'll try to reunite Mas and Zainab, which is weird given what a hatchet job they've done on her character since she left

Glad if this is the case, although I'm not watching at the moment, she was a pointless annoying character.
It'll be interesting who's actually left when I tune back in on Xmas day.

I don't LOVE Belinda (in fact I find her a little annoying) but I think she was a decent character with potential and could have stayed on.

More-so I'm annoyed that we have spent the past couple of months investing in the character, watching her settle into the show and watching a storyline about her setting up a business etc only for her to then leave. Waste of screen time, viewing time and license payers' money really.
