I thought it was a sale Alana was about to make at the boat show to someone Dillon had been talking to previously and he stepped in and said it was his customer and insisted on closing the sale.

This thead is about Alana and in this case she ( Karren ) gave her a backhanded compliment - which I note was not mentioned.

There is plenty of threads on here specifically designed to bash Karren so this comment should perhaps have gone to one of those.
I post where I like

Surely that was a sign of the tension between Alana and Dillon rather than the cause of it -- remember You're Fired a couple of weeks ago showed them avoiding hugging after the Liberty's boardroom?

Karren is a bit inconsistent. I remember her praising that other very pretty Irish girl Roisin from 2014 who flirted her way to a cheap diamond. She probably looks down on Alana for running a rural cake business.

Why should she ? - food and Funeral Directors will always be in demand because people have to eat and all people die ( unless it is Alan Sugar because he thinks he is God ) |
I know, hence why I mentioned Alana.
I post where I like
Selfish that then towards others because often threads are closed if gone off topic. |

I think Alana became my favourite this episode. She also seems the most popular on social media, maybe along with Jessica, but Jessica is seen as a laugh (or a joke) rather than a serious contender. People seem to be rooting for Alana because she has some good common sense but is constantly shat on by other people. I think many can relate to that.

Alana is now my favourite to win. Unless her business plan is pants I cant see anyone else challenging her.

I absolutely adore the comeback that took place, the very first task Alana seemed a bit stuck up and seemed like she honestly could have gone there and then when she was brought back for Final 3, but slowly she's really adapted herself to the tasks and despite consistently being underrated by the rest of the candidates she is also consistently good.
If she doesn't win now I will be completely gobsmacked, especially if Boring Courtney or Overly-Excitable Jessica win over her. |

Too true. I have liked her from the start and hope she can get over the line and win. |

a great redemption arc for Alana. Wow.
I will not be surprised if the final is between Alana and Grainne. |
Yes agree. The most impressive thing about Alana for me is that throughout the process she has acted professionally and calmly and with dignity in a lot of situations where she has been quite harshly picked on / put down and pushed aside by the other contestants and Karen.
Actually I think Karren likes her - go back and look at all the dialogue. |

Yeah I think she does too, but there have still been a couple of occasions where she's singled Alana out for unfair critism and Alana has responded in a very diplomatic way. Karen has done that with others too but the difference is how Alana ( as opposed to some of the others ) deals with confrontation and negativity ... which is always very maturely imo! I like Karren but think she was wrong when she had a go at Alana - once in particular - and I said so at the time. But overall I do think she can see Alana's strengths. |

Alana was pretty astute on the gin task - she did her market research and knew that colouring the gin was frowned upon. They could have gone with a coloured bottle though.
Her business is minuscule compared with the others...six types of cake, that's it. Only Grainne has a smaller set up. |
