I don't think i'd be surprised that the next 'chapter' is someone appearing in the media who she has "beef" with.

I know they've tried to manufacture that already with the likes of Jesy Nelson and Professor Green which didn't exactly take, so I could see some form of antagonist appearing who sells a story on her so that her inevitable appearance on the show next weekend is given more gravitas as she'll have had a "tough week".

I did have a look at the first few seconds of her appearance last night and the whole "Rocky" entrance, coupled with the fact she was effectively given the "main event" slot on the show at the end, just confirms it to me that she's Cowell's pet project this year, so I wouldn't be surprised to see her actually make the final.

Folks focusing on the 'drugs taking'...anyone got any thoughts on the sexual assault she endured during that time also.....or is that been overhyped too? ??

Her mother seems a really decent lady I bet it was devastating for her to find out.

I've read the thread. Don't be so patronising.

5 million isn't "huge" in the grand scheme of things.

😄😄 - I wouldn't be shocked if she confesses to whacking Tupac and Biggy to take out the competition

Isn't it? 5 million adults is not a 'huge' number?

allegedly endured ..

obviously you certainly shouldn't try to make light of such a thing but considering the lengths they're going to to try and give her a tough backstory, i struggle to believe anything that's written about her.

As bad as I feel for thinking it, I feel exactly the same Jason. If I am wrong, I'll hold my hands up and apologise but the way they are drip feeding these tales of honey g, her tough street life and her bravery in the face of adversity, it's difficult to believe any of her backstory is based on reality

I had to have my buttocks surgically unclenched last week with all that 'brap brap' nonsense. Eileen Derbyshire is a more convincing rap icon.

Don't give them ideas otherwise we'll be getting MC Derbz in a baseball cap and shell suit freestyling in T'Rovers any time soon

Do you remember a show called Faking It? They had to take someone who was the polar opposite to a certain role and spent a few weeks training them to convince people they were real. The one I remember is they had to turn a sweet, rather posh gay guy into an East End bouncer. That seems to be what could be happening here.

That is exactly what Honey G has reminded me of from the start. I think the difference between you and I (I'm guessing) is that I am enjoying it and you are obviously not.

What gave me away? 😄I'm just not seeing the fun or entertainment in her at all. Maybe it's her personally not carrying it off but I find everything about her embarrassing, cringeworthy and about as amusing as toothache. Her whole street persona just makes me shudder. The fact she has no charm or charisma makes the 'joke' fall flat
Like Pru said, it's buttock clenchinhly horrendous and not my idea of entertainment, fun or humour

Yes I had a vague suspicion from reading your posts

I am not a huge supporter - she shouldn't have got anywhere near the lives - but I suppose I'm sort of interested in how it's going to play out now. Also she does make me laugh.

I'm not naive and realise it's an entertainment show, nothing more but in previous years, she'd have been considered one of the loons they laugh at. I realise it's a joke but I just don't get the standing ovations anx judges acting like she's a real artist.

I remember 'Faking It' very well. One of my all time favourite shows. Some of them were incredibly emotional because of how much you could see it changed people.

One of the ones that sticks with me, that's probably actually slightly relevant to this series of X Factor, is the story of George Lubega. The solicitor who became a Garage MC and actually convinced two out of the three 'experts' he was real.

As we've said all along, the difference here is that Honey G is thoroughly unlikable from top to bottom because of how seriously she takes herself.

This reminds me more of the channel 4 sitcom from 1999 called "Boyz Unlimited" featuring a very young James Corden where they satirize the manufactured boy bands of the day.

For me, that's closer to how they seem to be creating this back story for Ms. Gilford to give her the pre-requisite "street" credentials.

Is she taking herself seriously though, or is it just one big piss take?

That's exactly what she's like. Has anyone been able to find any history of her appearing anywhere before the X Factor?
