I think he might do now. The poor guy started off wanting to do serious dancing but the show obviously had him pinned as the joke act and forced it upon him. Now I think he just embraces it to stay in a little longer and maybe make that next pay grade before he gets kicked off.

Read this and thought "that's it, it was a Bassey song, but safe dance" - I think I was expecting something more dramatic that did justice to the song.

Me to, seemed to be a lot of "faffing" around and little in hold, although Len did not comment on this so it must have been the right proportions.

Bet she gets a Paso with trad music in Blackpool, just as Suzanna/Kevin did there in 2013.”

Bet she does!

I think he forgets he's supposed to be marking the dancing not the comedy value, that's down to the public vote. But to mark Ed an 8, the same as Daisy and Greg, that's just ridiculous and a slap in the face to those two contestants who dance markedly better.

I'd agree with this. I can understand why people vote for Ed and on a good day he's funny and the Gangham style bits and the penguin shuffle were great. However I think it's down to voters to decide if it entertains enough to keep it in. By all means say that you find it entertaining in your comments but mark the actual dance content because that's what you're actually being paid to do.

On ITT Friday Danny was asked about the song and he said he initially told them he didn't want it, even Oti rolled her eyes when Zoe brought it up. However the producers told him it was a different take on the song so he ended up accepting it. It was an amazing AT in any case, but with the right music behind it it would have been glorious IMO.

Yes, exactly. I don't mind the judges finding a dance funny despite the complete lack of actual dancing, but come on. You judge the dancing, the public judges the entertainment value. If the judges want to weigh in on entertainment value, let them get on their phones and vote like the rest of us. Don't add it to the marking.

I agree, both me and the wife thought he was just so gobsmacked by the scores after those comments he didn't know what to think or do. Her words were 'he looks totally discombobulated' ... yeah, had to look that one up.

Hardly he, Rinder and Greg will be in the final with Ed winning the glitter ball, every thread gets the final its deserves and after reading most of the thread Ed is all this thread deserves.

Not a chance.

The further the competition goes on, the harder it is for the lower placed contestants to avoid the dance off. Greg, Rinder and Ed will only make it to the final if they dance better and I can't see that happening now.

That would be an awful final for me, people like Danny and Louise etc would be robbed.

That is interesting to know, they got it perfect on the night though.

I'm really enjoying this year's show but not because of the competent celeb dancers although I enjoy them, too, I just enjoy Rinder and Ed more at this stage

Yes but I want someone who is A GOOD DANCER to win, not just about ENTERTAINMENT.

I can see why people find Ed etc entertaining, but to win over someone like Danny etc would be a bit unfair if you ask me.
