Just for balance... What's the big deal with Louise dancing the Paso at B'pool? Greg's Paso just landed him in the DO. Kevin and Louise have to dance something...
Let's see her and Kevin get a highly inappropriate song for it ... like so many others have been landed with. |

We are in for some big shock so cos that means we will have to lose either Danny or Ore especially if Ed Balls is still in contention!
![]() Just mark Louise at the top of the leaderboard and job is done. |

I think the problem I have (and perhaps this is true for others?) is that Ore is a professional TV presenter being paid to make a professional TV appearance. That makes the crying/emotionality seem inappropriate somehow. I had similar issues with Laura.
It would be much more understandable and forgivable in less seasoned TV performers, such as Daisy, but somehow they seem to make a better fist of it all. 'Inappropriate' is such a cold word somehow! I'm not getting at you. It's just that it matters to most of them at a deep level. So -- for me -- getting emotional seems natural |

They can easily get rid off Ed Balls in the semi-final, if he even gets there.
Just mark Louise at the top of the leaderboard and job is done. |

I expect the Danny fans will have to invent something to PROVE how 'disadvantaged' and 'underdoggy' he is this week.
He's got a great dance to great music at Blackpool, not for the first time either, but hey. .

Greg Rutherford will never be a dancer - Daisy was far better than he will ever be. I only watch bits and pieces of this farce so i can talk to my MIL about it (but don't like it) but why is EB and Judge Rinder still in there. Like the X factor (which I never watch) the whole lot is a load of crZp

I will miss Daisy, she was a lovely contestant.
Not looking forward to Nat become even more invested in Greg but in fairness he did his dance better than Daisy did hers. |

Charleston to Puttin' on the Ritz for Danny and Oti.
Jive to Hey Mickey for Claudia and AJ. Puttin' on the Ritz slightly 'straight' for a Charleston? ![]() |

Greg was brilliant last night but he topped it with that DO performance, it's a shame he is being held up against Danny for comparison.

Gawd knows how a Paso's some sort of big advantage let alone for Louise who struggles most with the characterisation side of things. I'm not even that keen on Kevin but the conspiracy theories are getting dafter and dafter!

NOPE
This is an ENTERTAINMENT programme Ed is improving Ed is loving it Ed it passionate about learning ED IS ENTERTAINING But I must disagree. I find Ed cringe worthy and embarrassing to watch, that's mu opinion. The fact a man of his age and experience would put himself through such humiliation baffles me, but that's his choice. However, as has been argued for time immemorial, this is a dance show first and an entertainment show second. Its called Strictly come DANCING, the clue is in the name. If you want just entertainment watch X-Factor, that's their thing. So is he improving, yup. Is he loving it, seems to be. Is he passionate about learning .... um, well to be honest none of us know that unless we sat him down and interrogated him. Is Ed entertaining? For some yes, and that's absolutely fine, but for others he is not and that too is equally fine. But Blackpool should be as far as he goes unless they are happy for dancers more talented to be kicked off for the joke contestant. |

What's humiliating about someone Ed's age learning to dance?

Can't wait for Ed's Jive!
I do wonder why they are giving him so many of the Latin's though?

I love Andre, he must have a season ticket to Strictly the amount of times they have him on, but he is famous for his violin performances and yet we can't hear him over that HUGE orchestra and the singers ... kinda a waste of time him being there
![]() I'm glad that Ed got through. He has made this series. He was presumably supposed to be the duffer that gets eliminated in week two or something. But he is a joy to watch. Somebody on another thread said people are laughing at him, not with him. I don't think that's true. He is having a go, is trying hard, is clearly loving it, and is hugely entertaining. I don't think that Ed is humiliating himself at all. Far from it, in fact. |

He's not paid to present now though. It's like -- if it was Who Do You Think You Are? or whatever that show is where a person's recent ancestry is traced -- you'd not expect them to remain professional there, and this too is a personal thing for them. Not personal in the same way as the ancestor show but still personal because there's no faking the effort and immersion and the imaginative involvement in learning a new art-form.

![]() I had more of an issue with Brendan & Natalie choreographing so much of their dance right in front of him - it's usually more carefully placed than that to avoid completely blocking the guest artist. |

They really need to do something about the salsa next year - they've all been rubbish both in choreography and music this year. It's become a real handicap.

I think you'll find some of the Great British Public agree with your sentiments. People vote for all sorts of reasons but it's evident with Ed not yet being in the dance off and Greg only once some people want those on a journey, and those who entertain to be kept in. In the next few weeks the weaker dancers most likely go out but it's the likes of Ed, The Judge and Greg and the prospect of seeing something unexpected happen good or bad which keeps me watching. Personally if all were like Danny who performed well from day 1 and has barely improved I probably wouldn't watch the show.
