No idea what was going on during Andre's performance, why was he there if the Soprano Sax was doing the tune? Weird.

I don't really get it.”

I think he is absolutely lovely.

Admired him as an Olympian athlete, who wouldn't!

Loved when he came into strictly his huge smile which never stopped!! He just seemed to beam constantly, lit up the TV when he was on. He thanked the judges for their comments - even the more pointed ones about his bottom and bow legs......graciously.

I have loved even more the absolute hard work he puts in, he has excellent work ethics, and you can see him thinking about everything. I also love how lovely and sincere he comes across as - whether being interviewed himself, caught on the hop on ITT footage, or in the Clauditorium with his fellow dancers.

And what blew me away was the way he went out and totally nailed that Dance off. I could feel the effort he put into it, it was electric, and he totally nailed it......shows his passion.

I think he comes across as a genuinely lovely person and I am glad to have seen this side to him via Strictly. I don't think he will make the finals, but as much as I enjoy watching Ed, I certainly believe Greg should be there after Ed and after Judge R.
What name??

I think he's being most compared to Daisy this week and quite fairly. He started of at a lower level than her and has improved more.

If the entertainment value was what the creators wanted why make it a dance show at all? Why have professional dance judges scoring? It just doesn't make sense to then concentrate on dancing while sending the entertainers home.”

There's no "if" about it. It's not my argument. It's how the BBC bill, and have always billed, the show.

Because he is the conductor of the orchestra (though not in the traditional sense of standing in front of them and waving a baton as he also plays, though occasionally he uses his violin bow to conduct). Funnily enough not all pieces of music or arrangements are written with a violin solo!

Those dresses his band were wearing, not the same but so out of fashion, they put me in mind of the war time female members, of Rita Rio's big band. Sounded far more danceable too. Even Alan Ladd sang well.

While I agree with the others, you're forgetting that Lisa got to the semi final. And unlike Ed, was overmarked to high heaven with the judges, especially Craig!

Hmm. Couldn't be that by the time the 'serious' contenders have started to master the dancing they have become the chief entertainers themselves, I suppose? It is beyond my comprehension how we can be in season 14 and there are still people who haven't fathomed out the basic intent of the show! To counter your rather odd arguments that the dancing comes first how come the popular vote takes precedence in the event of ties in the combined positions? How come the final is decided entirely by the vote (unlike DWTS incidentally)? Why are the judges expected to give encouraging critiques rather than just banging their scores out? Why do Tess and Claudia spend so much of their time telling us we can turn the leaderboard upside down? Why are there props, and stunts like aerial work, and narrative dances? Didn't have any of that on Come Dancing!

Tall poppy syndrome combined with 'that bleep might put the person I like out so I hate them now'. I'm not speaking from a position of superity here - I've been guilty of it with some people. I kinda of got a bit annoyed at Anita when she got put through and Helen went because Helen got landed with a dog of dance and Anita got forgiven for doing an awful cell block tango but thems is the breaks.

I know and I don't get all the Ore hate too either. They all seem like a lovely hard working bunch this year and yet there so many bricks flying through the air in their general direction.
