Freeview Streamed Channels on KODI
Some weeks ago someone mentioned the Matrix IPTV KODI plugin as a way to get the Freeview streamed channels. Since then there have been several updates.
Included are:- Around 50 channels from the Freeview EPG All BBC channels including regions, All ITV channels but no regions, 7 Local TV channels Some if the Freeview streamed channels Around 20 news channels Around 25 music channels 11 "Entertainment" channels Some interesting channels but nothing outstanding I expect for most people! With the exception of the regional variations then aren't most of those are going to be available to anyone with a TV aerial and a Freeview TV and receiving from a main transmitter, and without eating in to the Broadband or 4G data allowances?

I'm the one who mentioned the plugin.
Yes, I agree for the most part, but one possible use is the Freeview HD streams on TVs that are not DVB-T2 capable - or on a set where an aerial connection is either not possible or an indoor aerial gives poor results. (Indeed, I used it to watch the New Year fireworks in 720p on the bedroom TV!) For anyone who is curious, the setup instructions are at http://kodirepo.matrixnetwork.co.uk/setup/ |
