No.
I'm losing interest in Strictly because it has moved away from what made it so good.
What I liked about Strictly was that it was a reality show, where people (happened to be celebrities) were taken out of their comfort zone to learn something new.
They used to have pros who could teach the 10 dances and there was a standard for each dance, so there was something specific to achieve, and it mattered if you did the dance you were asked to learn and you got better scores if you danced it better.
There always was the marks for entertainment side. I think that was a useful safety net for the Show, and it allowed those who were not good at learning to dance, to contribute and hopefully get respect for trying, and feel that they fitted in too.
A big part for me is the pro dancers. Part of what made the show better is the partnership between the pro and the celeb. They should form a team. The pro should be capable of teaching all the dances, and the pairing should have a large amount of control over their performance.
Now, the producers have taken too much control, devalued the position of the pro and the Show feels much more stage-managed.
I would prefer the show to have more of a let-it-happen type of management, where the producer creates the conditions to have a learning-to-dance competition and there is more of a feeling that it matters what they actually perform and how they perform it.
If there is something specific to achieve, and the pro has the capability to do their job, then there can be more emotion generated and it becomes more interesting and a REAL Reality Show. What we have now is an imitation reality show.
