Gold Stars vs New Stars vs All-stars vs TOWIE vs Geordie Shore vs Ex on the Beach vs Made in Chelsea vs USA ... Zzzzzzzz ... Just give up!

Is that REALLY the best they can do?

TPTB haven't got a single idea between them. Why over-complicate things when a simple formula works? Forget the theme, forget the has-beens, forget the reality nobodies, ditch the relentless and repetitive twists - for the love of god .. just give us Celebrity Big Brother!

Of course, following CBB18 it is clearly a mammoth task to fill that house with people even a hardened recluse has heard of. Which joker thinks we all want to see creatures such as James Jordan (I cannot bare him), Jasmine Lennard (she's just desperate) and Bear (How long have you got?.. ) AGAIN?! ?

It's just embarrassing now

Who else is going to go on Celebrity Big Brother? Nobody with any celebrity career to speak of would touch it with a bargepole. They wouldn't have the time, the show probably couldn't afford them, and at the end of the day they'd have more to lose than gain from going on there. It's people who need the "work" or the publicity that go on.

However, I agree with most of the rest of what you say. The themes are always pointless. I'm not keen at all on the idea of an "all stars" series. Returning housemates always seem to be a disapointment one way or another, and the rumoured returners from this upcoming one all sound awful.

Rumours abound that Nasty Nick Bateman is returning to milk the Big Brother cow for a third time, he must be desperate for some cash

The BB production team have to be the laziest and most stupid in television. The latest 'theme' being bandied about is 'villains', bar friend of the show and all-round oxygen thief, Helen Wood I presume ..

It's a complete travesty how the producers have ripped this programme to pieces........it bears no resemblance to what the concept was about.
While I realise it had to evolve they have taken it apart, chewed it up, spat it out, & stamped on it.

The CBB version was in the main enjoyable, they're now hell bent on choking it to death with this plan. Putting the most obnoxious people in the house is a disaster waiting to happen. They'll all be desperate for airtime, & subsequently will be as nasty, annoying, & spiteful as it's possible to be, all trying to outdo each other. And this is what the producers consider to be entertainment!

You've summed up the producers well, soapnut, they're clearly idiots!

Next to Shilpagate, it's probably the biggest controversy yet just waiting to happen. It doesn't even bare thinking of. The bloodthirsty producers are asking for nothing but trouble, and it's a dead cert that they are going to get it. To hell with the viewers and what's left of the show's reputation, they appear to want an all-out war, and it's sickening that they still haven't learned their lesson or from past mistakes. There's only one way this insane idea can go ..

After them accidentally revealing the show is all made up when it was broadcast on the live feed the night before the last final, i can't bring myself to watch it again.

Shame as if they got some of the CBB legends in such as McCririck, Galloway or even Jim Davidson, i would've watched.

I could understand them doing something nostalgic for CBB20 but doing it for 19 just smacks of them wanting to exploit the more popular January slot. I gave up on CBB after Jim Davidson's so I don't feel I'll be tempted back for this.

McCririck has already been in 3 times, and who knows the ones you mentioned might be in.

I was so excited when Emma took over as host, but I think I would have more respect for her if she quit given that the show is basically Big Brother in name only now

And to think UBB looked like a bit of a flimsy premise at the time...

...

It's just embarrassing now
It certainly is

I wouldn't blame Nick - it's easy cash for someone who can just float about and quip from afar like he did last time.

Bib - there's some serious competition there, but I agree I think they'd win!

At least the C4 lot are has-beens, the C5 housemates are never-have-beens
True.

...
I quit before that but it sounds like they accidentally did some folk like yourself a favour!

I was so excited when Emma took over as host, but I think I would have more respect for her if she quit given that the show is basically Big Brother in name only now
I honestly can't believe she's stuck with it, I was sure she would leave this summer...for at least two series now you can see how impossible she's found it to even fake the excitement

You know how much she loves the arguing and the showmances the show provides year in year out

It's just unfortunate she herself has fallen into that 'they are boring if they don't argue or not in a showmance' mentality the show encourages these days

Who can forget "You were all getting along we had to do something" from BB16

I don't agree with this part. She seemed genuinely still very excited at the four in four out stage and that interview. (Easy to see with hindsight that it ruined that series, but a lot of us did call it at the time.) Since then, however, things have gone downhill very fast indeed, which has absolutely been evident in her struggling more and more to keep up any convincing pretence. At that stage though she still seemed to be really enjoying herself.

The money must be good, she's looked miserable for ages with the constant shoutfest each series has become...
