Just felt the need to post to say how much much much improved the VTs were this week! No naff unfunny comedy, or pros failing at acting or random 'to get us into the mood of the dance we decided to go to... (Insert random irrelevant place)'. I hope this is continued for the rest of the series.

More generally I really also enjoyed the show much more this week, better music and consequently better routines also. Producers - keep it up, more like this!

Agreed. All about rehearsals and no silly 'getting in the mood'.
More of the same from now on, please, strictly.

yes, amazing, and much better. training room and studio rehearsal footage only!

i think the outside broadcast VT man must be off with the flu or something...

I agree much better. Perhaps they reined themselves back this week because next week it'll be over the top comedy VT's about packing their bags for Blackpool. Expect sticks of rock, bucket and spades, and donkey rides under the shadow of the Tower.

Agree. They should keep them short and totally about the rehearsals, just like Strictly used to be in the old days.

the producer wants every few weeks to be 'special' to keep interest, so they hype that Blackpool. They actually believe in the inane comedy VTs so they'll never miss them out at Blackpool.

I agree with these comments.

The VT's were really nice tonight and straight to the point of only rehearsing. But next week VT's are bound to be super cheesy and silly.

I always start watching on delay so I can fast forward the silly vts and this week I think I actually watched them all, so much better to see how they got along in training than to see whether they can act or not in a completely set up scenario.

Maybe the budget to send them off on pointless trips to Paris etc has been blown and they need to hold some back for Blackpool?

It would be nice to think that someone on the production team is monitoring social media and taking note of what's being said - it would be most unusual these days if that was not the case.

So watch your 'p's' and 'q's', everyone - there's a Strictly production lackey hanging on your every word.

Let's hope they stick with them! Am not holding much hope out for Blackpool though, I feel we'll be back to "comedy"

It's very possible - I often do this as part of my job. We don't manually read every social media platform and forum though - we use software that collates all public mentions into various informative charts and graphs

It was much better this week, much more interesting to watch, more relevant to the dance and it also helps you to get to know the contestants better when it's not scripted. It must be more useful for the celebs too, they must lose so much rehearsal time running about all over the place

If only this were true. They usually do the opposite of what I would like,so in that case, MORE STUPID VT'S AND CRAP MUSIC PLEASE!

Perhaps somebody should start a 'BBC Are You Listening?' thread and we could all pile in with our gripes (in an orderly manner, of course)

Seriously, it would surprise me if the BBC were NOT scanning this forum - it would be very remiss of them if they're not. The biggest SCD super fan site with more reaction and opinion than they can shake a stick at.

I must agree...don't think we heard the dreaded:

"To get into character..."

or

"To get into the mood of the dance..."

or

any other combination which is followed by some ridiculously contrived situation which embarrasses the hell out of everyone concerned.
