1. The first show this series I have watched from beginning to end without ff through judge's comments and scores.
2. JR's feisty with Craig - don't think it will do him any favours, however.
3. How could anyone not love Ed's salsa?? Even my OH did and he's no Ed Balls fan!
4. Ore's rumba - was no one looking at his hands? Series after series, dance after dance, we are told that THE LINES MUST BE FINISHED RIGHT TO THE FINGERTIPS! Ore threw his fingertips away every time IMO and not one of the judges picked him up on it. Huh.
5. Louise is still not doing it for me. She was even dancing in beige.

1) I'm not a fan of his, but Danny's Argentine Tango was quite frankly the best dance I've ever seen on any version of Strictly Come Dancing or Dancing With The Stars.

2) I am a fan of his, and Ed's Salsa brought me to tears of absolute joy.

3) I want Judge Rinder to do that Foxtrot again in the Final as his Judges' Pick, there's definitely the capacity for 10s.

4) Louise has actually thawed out, she sold that routine to the hilt.

5) Daisy feels doomed, which deeply, deeply saddens me.

Since mark inflation made 8 the average? They overmarked with Daisy and since almost everyone else was better it made a mockery of the system with little chance to be flexible.

1. Danny and Oti just amazing. May wear the repeat button out for that one.
2. Judge Rinder and Oksana, voted for him because he's enjoying it all so much and Craig was so rude and because he soooo wants to get to Blackpool. Mind you so do they all.
3. Well done Ed, given a jokey song and made us laugh but I hope he gets a proper song next week. Was disappointed the judges didn't comment at all on the dancing bits. Lighting was a bit distracting.
4. Claudia (and AJ) love watching them. I felt sorry for her back at the start when they picked on her for using gymnastics but she's using her skills so well now to fit the dances.
5. Loved the feel of Daisy and Alijaz's dance and wasn't sure when I saw that fabric on ITT how it would look but Daisy looked great in it.

1. Louise, who I've went back and forth on this season, did my favourite dance of the season tonight by a mile. Really loved it. Would watch it again and again!
2. I actually really enjoyed Daisy's dance. Was it perfect? No. But I'd be really sad if she went and I find her dances more enjoyable than Greg's or Judge Rinder's.
3. I didn't get Ore and Joanne's Rumba. Technically good but I wasn't feeling it.
4. Ed Balls. I don't need to say any more
5. I really missed Laura and Gio but even still, last night's show was one of the best of the season and the second half of the show in particular was superb!

1) VTs with training footage instead of stupid skits - yay! Can we keep that, please?

2) I agree with Darcy that Danny & Oti's dance was too 'busy', less content would have made for a better dance, in my opinion.

3) I love Ed Balls.

4) I thought Robert Rinder danced well.

5) I think Ore did really well given how hard rumbas can be for the male celebs.

1. Appreciated Ore's rumba much more after a second viewing. He got far nearer achieving the sinuous, fluidity of movement of a good rumba than the vast majority of male celebs have managed. Not the best dance of the night, but certainly one of the best male rumbas I've seen on Strictly.

2. It's taken her a while but Louise finally seems to be marrying technique with a high level of performance. She really has come out of her shell of late and to be nowhere as inhibited as she seemed to originally be. Great choreography from Kevin for their AS.

3. Danny & Oti's AT was absolutely compelling. I much preferred it to Louise & Kevin's AT of the previous week. The best dance of the night IMO.

4. Every time I convince myself that it's finally time for Ed to go, he goes out and puts a massive smile on my face. His salsa was fantastically entertaining and Katya and he have such a brilliant partnership.

5. Tiggywink is right: Daisy Lowe is a goddess. A truly beautiful woman inside and out. Her joy in the Tesspit at seeing her fellow celebs doing so well seemed absolutely genuine, and was testament to her warmth and generosity of spirit. Particularly since each high score and ecstatically received performance (ie. Ed) made it far more likely she would once again be facing the dance off.

I'll be glad to see the back of the miserable git.



I have to agree with both of you, I'm a man and have voted for her every week .. she has been a breath of fresh air.

I thought I'd hate Judge Rinder, but he's growing on me and his comment about Daisy being sunshine in human form was lovely.

Time for Ed to go now - a Blackpool finale and then off for him hopefully.

Slightly disappointed with Danny's AT - felt really frantic - I know the music didn't really fit, but it just seemed too fast.

Louise's AS on the other hand was very well judged - just shows what a killer song can do.

Loved Chloe and AJ on the results show.

2. Enjoyed Natalie and Brendan's pro dance too, I've always liked them dancing together . . . thought Brendan was Anton at the beginning though
3. Very sorry to see my fave Daisy leave and not given the chance to dance a beautiful Ballroom number with Aljaz in the Tower Ballroom.

Thoughts on contestants for week 8 (in alphabetical order):


Danny & Oti - thought he put in even more effort this week and that his focus/intensity showed through; think its a good positive sign. It was also nice to see how comfortable Oti looked in the lifts as well. Still think if he relaxes his body (and loosen his jaw tension), let the movements marinate in his body, that he can develop even more power, speed and extension (like Oti). But think it's nice to see that they are turning a corner and that he's starting to chip away in search of higher overall scores.

Louise & Kevin - think its nice Kevin has confidence in Louise to start on her own, and thought that she looked her best/most confident at the top this week. Agree she commanded the stage (Bruno) as she took Kevin, and seamlessly strung along the curious audience into her daring performance. Though her right arm seemed a bit straight in hold, think she should continue to work on character/assume a specific, alter ego each week as it seems to be paying off in her lively performances.

Ore & Joanne - thought there was a nice, soothing quality to the routine and that he gently pursued the lady to the very end. Think he gave a nice effort in showing the fluidity in his body as well with a routine full of rumba content. Maybe opening up his chest a bit to give off a hint of arrogance and taming his right shoulder a bit from popping up would've helped. But liked how Joanne looked when presented in fan and that it was nice to see an expressive side to Ore from his previous weeks.


Best of luck to all the celebs and looking forward to their dances.

1) Katya is brilliant. Ed is the 'joke contestant' this year but he and Katya have been a brilliant partnership. He gives it his all and the dances are fun but at the same time still normally include enough content - it's always clear the dance they're doing (unlike some other contestants).
Their Salsa was so much fun.

2) The band and singers were brilliant at Gangham Style. LOVED IT

3) Shame to see Daisy go - seemed so lovely. That said I genuinely don't dislike all this year's line-so would've been a shame to see anyone go.

4) Does feel like one of Rinder or Ed could reach the final. Neither have been in the bottom 2 yet so must have signficant public support. Could they end up splitting the vote though and end up in trouble?

5) Does feel like an open competition this year. I'd say Danny is the slight favourite but certainly wouldn't be surprised if one of Judge Rinder, Louise or Ed won instead.
And I'd be happy either way - really like the contestants this year and they all seem to really get on. Normally I'd have one pairing I wasn't a fan of (hello Kellie & Kevin) but not this year. Have my favourites of the bunch but they're all good.
