The judges have always had a thing for pop princesses and she's the most trained dancer of the women by a mile this year (unless others have training I don't know about), so they would always have loved her whoever she was dancing with. My feeling is that she'd dancing in 3rd gear, well within her capacity, apart from the AT (where I thought she tried more and was much better), which is why she doesn't make errors but why - imo - she is a bit safe. I don't admire that. I think however trained you are, when you have a chance like this, you should 'dance out of your skin' to the best you can every time, whether it makes you look 'too good' or not. I think it's Louise's career plan to be 'ordinary Mum having a bit of a go' and that holds her back. Just my feeling.

Personally I don't think putting them together was great casting. I think Louise calms Kevin down, yes, and that's good, but she'd not really showing a side of Kevin or his choreography that I haven't seen already, so they've yet to surprise me. I would have liked to have seen Kevin with a real learner not because it's 'his turn' but because I think he'd do it well and we'd see a new side of him. (I only liked Alijaz once he was with Alison and Natalie once she stopped having ringers, so it's not just about Kevin - I think giving the pros a chance to teach gives them a chance to shine.)

Having said that my entire family and all my friends are supporting Kevin and Louise, and when I say 'Don't you think she's a bit dull,' they all without exception say 'Oh but Kevin's so lovely.' So I think the DS board is really really misleading about the general reaction to Kevin.

If Louise has musical theatre in mind I think she has a way to go peformance wise. And though she can hold a tune she was never a strong singer. Lovely lass tho. And a high placing in this comp will do her no harm at all.

Not claiming anything, but it would be interesting to see how Kevin would have coped having to choreograph an American Smmoth like poor Katya had to.

Yes, it is.

But only because the argument has strayed somewhere else, you contradicted me and I proved you wrong. Now I proved you wrong my point is irrelevant to the thread
You did not prove anyone wrong, I assure you. What you call "facts" worked different ways in the past, and you needed an exceptional dancer for them to work in his favor. You have every right to be opinionated, but don't try to present your opinions (based on a very biased approach) as facts.
As for Jaliona fans, they are not a homogeneous mass either, and this year their preferences might be as diverse as possible. I couldn't stand Kevin's OTT performances in the past, not just last year. This year I have turned into his fan and, although I cannot vote, I would love to see him and Louise in the final. I like their subtlety and finesse - precisely the things that many SCD fans call "dull". It's a matter of taste, of course.
I still don't think there should be so many members of the same family in the program, especially if they cannot behave in a professional way: it puts other participants who don't have family members on SCD and on this forum at a disadvantage.

IMO Louise is a competent dancer and hardly ever makes any mistakes. For me she lacks chemistry with her partner. In herself I find that she lacks charisma. Apart from that she is a very nice, polite and friendly woman. The marks she gets are right for her and Kevin.
I think she is a typical "lady" (former "good girl") participant, and as a lady she is trying to avoid anything that might be considered as vulgar: too much emotion, excitement, comedy, closeness to her partner. I think I have witnessed it in Ali, Sophie and Katie (first names that come to mind).

Nice post.

I can't warm to Louise as a dancer. I liked her jive, rumba and AT but the AS last night was nowhere near as good as Kellie's last year and Louise did not manage the assisted jumps that Kellie achieved. Someone has written elsewhere of her AS that it did not reach a crescendo, which it seemed to be teasing it would. So I wonder how much Kevin's choreography is playing to Louise's strengths but may be not pushing her although those assisted lifts are a glimmer of being pushed out of her comfort zone.

I didn't like Aljaz when he was paired with Abbey. He was wonderful with Alison; cheeky and with some clever, funny choreography. Kevin in his first year with Susanna seemed natural and to find the adulation amusing. Since then he has become more competitive and I miss Kevin from his first series. Louise may calm him down but I think she puts a dampener on proceedings too!

As to her being favoured by the judges: Not sure as they have asked her to up her game but I don't think her AS was upping her game. I think watch this space as she is yet to do salsa or samba where more energy is called for as well as the legendary 'hip action'.

Pretty much total rubbish from the OP

She danced brilliantly to a very well choreographed number.
Obviously therefore you are worried for your favourite. Just be positive for that person because that person won't win just because you try and talk down another dancer combining it with the most ludicrous conspiracy statements.

Maggie
I feel the same actually. I liked last week's AT but I really wanted to like the AS and it was lacking something.

I have nothing against the Clinton (when they're not all shouting 'under-marked' in Claud 9) and I like Ore mostly but I'm sorry if it's not a conspiracy then the judges and producers couldn't be trying much harder to make it look like one.

So number of Youtube video views, number of likes of his videos on Twitter and Facebook, being miles ahead in all the polls are not facts? Alright then, you'd better tell this to Jay's fans who kept banging on about his "Jive is the most watched SCD video evah".

They are NOT fact to his 'having it in the bag'. They are merely a way of showing how popular his jive was.

I don't like her either. 39 for the most boring, sterile and by-the-numbers Argentine Tango ever? Whilst Danny's passionate, lively and exciting one gets 38? Yawn.

I said videos in my post, Jive included but not solely. Read it properly, sunshine.

But like I said, I won't reply to you anymore, there's no point.

I suggest you don't as you're not cut out for forums; its your view or no view. Your evidence is nothing more than at that point in time/random data gathering, which is always capable of being upset, SUNSHINE

The tone of your post suggests that you are a LOT more bothered about our exchange than I am. People who get easily upset with these little exchanges are the ones who are not actually made for internet forums, but hey ho, there we are.

Could you please stop deviating the OP point? Ta.

Its interesting how there's at least two posts who have disagreed with you and you've not bothered to answer them. If you think I'm a pushover SUNSHINE, think again..however, you're not meant to even be acknowledging me are you?

I once knew an arrogant guy called Chris. When he was having a go at anyone and trying to make them look stupid, guess what he called them?

It made him look a turkey.

I couldn't help but feel she was deliberately dancing in 3rd/4th gear - can't dance at 5th for 10 performances a week, after all So in some ways, very musical theatre!

I think, as far as TBTB is concerned, Louise is the banker. They know they can slot her anywhere in the running order from first to last and she will turn in a good, competent performance and produce the high scoring dance that the show seems to demand every week.

She seems a perfectly pleasant, lovely woman. She treats Kevin with the exasperated affection of an aunt dragged up to dance by a nephew at the Village Hall ceilidh and appears to do just enough, but I think it's the safe-pair-of-handsness that is going against her a little bit. People know what they are going to get - there is no frisson that it just might go a bit Horlicks. She could have done with a Danny and the bungee cord moment, bit I think it's too late for that now.

I tend to agree with you - everyone in my household thinks she is good, but is very one-dimensional - she is 'flat'!

I like Kevin's choreography, but really hope that next year he is given someone who isn't as good as Susanna, Kellie or Louise - I'd like to see what he can do choreographically with someone who is a 'challenge'.
