Broke-enders

I'm sorry but is anyone else sick of every second character having money troubles. I know it's a very topical issue but seriously it's being overdone at the moment.
I mean Stephen, Lee, Jay, Roxy, Stacey and Martin, Belinda are all going through the same thing. it just gets abit borin when half of the cast have the same storyline.

When you brake it down it does seem a lot but I think it is probably a fair reflection of what a lot of people are going through and the people you mention have money woes due to their different circumstances

and believe Donna has to move to another flat because her rent is going up. In a way it' s ok - reflects real life - but - perhaps getting a bit too much - dunno !! at least Kim doesn't have problems, spending money like its going out of fashion.

I can't stand these stories, DTC seemed to put a halt to this type of thing.

I agree, I think this kind of storyline is over done too. The biggest threat to EastEnders realism is how expensive present-day London is versus the low paid jobs and lack of financial security most of the characters have. This is why I find it frustrating when they reintroduce characters with stories of them being totally broke. It happened with Sharon, and wth Grant more recently. Martin Fowler also 'lost everything' and ended up on a market stall- then there was Roxy's dissapearing millions. You think the producers would have kept those and other characters fairly solvent so people didn't constantly wonder how exactly they could afford to live in that area.

EastEnders is nothing like the real East End.

well obviously no British soap reflects how British people actually live. No one has that much interaction with their neighbours, or that many problems. But setting that aside EastEnders has the least realist residents of all.

well, it makes a change from them having wads of money, & out every night on market wages.
