I mean. I know its The X Factor, not the Voice, but christ...you shouldn't be allowed to leave 80% of the track to the backing singers and just dance over it.

Go on Britain's Got Talent if that's your act!!

It seems that way to me every week. They can do some individual solos but when it comes to the chorus they look like their miming to a backing track as their voices can't be heard or they are dancing. I guess the problem is they haven't been together that long and they can't harmonize which is fairly important for a boyband. Same thing with One Direction when they were on the show, I suppose that didnt hold them back.
I thought the judges comparing them to JLS is crazy, I know those guys could sing great together but I honestly don't know with this group as I hear more backing track than them.
They seem popular so if the show gets them into the final they have shot at being successful.

Most of the backing tracks are too high! It seems that when the acts get to the high notes, apart from matt, the backing track takes over

Im watching on plus1. Looks like they were miming tge best part of it

3 Dancers and the backing track. JLS they will never be.

They're suppose to be a serious act and they actually sounded worse than Honey G on the night vocally.

I'm sorry but the judges yet again did not do proper critique just because they like the Boyband style of singing.

If we're judging on the night then 5AM along with Emily and Matt should fight for their safety this week as they was the weakest this week.

I thought it looked they were miming too, I also thought that about Matt!

The giveaway is where the camera is, and it gave long and near shots. I heard the lads sing a flat tone, but when the camera showed a long shot, you wouldn't have known whether the lads were singing or not. I think they did sing, but were drowned out with the loud backing music.

Yup - the backing singers sang 80% of it, one of them attempted to ad lib 20% of it which was dire. They pretty much just danced a bit and looked good on stage and will get through next week, forget about the singing.

Here's the live performance video. They sing the first verse and possibly some of the second verse, but those choruses are clearly drowned out by the backing singers and backing track if theyre even singing, and the second chorus looks to be CLEARLY mimed.

They're honestly, talent wise, worse than Honey G imo. I just can't see what the hell the appeal is meant to be... They can't sing a note so they prance about to cover it about, and then get showered with praise.

I'd be embarrassed to get up on stage and mime my way through a singing competition. They sing less and less each week. Shame as they seem like nice lads.

I thought the backing singers were really good last night they had the judges on there feet,

Just like 1D before them, they mime 90% of a track.

As with Fleur East, as singers they make good dancers.

If there was an Unplugged theme coming up I actually would be the most concerned for 5AM out of the serious acts, even Ryan would cope better because he is the stronger vocalist which I cannot believe that I'm saying it.

One Direction's "performances" were always hilarious on the show. Every time we got to the chorus, a choir of about 30 male voices kicked in : it was impossible to tell if anyone was singing live.

Nope you are 100% correct, they only sand maybe a 1\3 last night

At least you could say it was monotone, I honestly don't even know what to call 5AM's last night.

Absolutely spot on with this , they really are appalling and are worse than honey g or any other act on the show . The lad who sung the first verse was dreadful and well the chorus they sung sod all of it to be honest . What an absolute joke of an standing ovation the judges gave them . Poor or not at least the others gave it a bloody go, 5am must have sung about 20% like the poster said above

It really is blatant favouritism by the show and the judges to just turn their heads away and pretend this wasn't happening, or just not mention it. So much for a fair contest!!

They are dancers who will be ideal fpr the miming malarky
