Pretty much anything Kara danced, but the Paso Doble, Argentine Tango, Tango, Waltz, American Smooth and of course that fabulous Rumba spring to mind.
And pretty much anything Alesha danced too - her Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Argentine Tango, Cha Cha, Quickstep and Jive were particularly sublime. Jay & Aliona's Jive Harry & Aliona's Quickstep and AT Tom & Camilla's Showdance Ramps & Karen's AT and Salsa Matt & Aliona's Viennese Waltz and Samba Chris & Ola's Charleston Ricky & Natalie's Quickstep Jill & Darren's Jive Rachel & Vincent's Foxtrot and Rumba Matt & Flavia's Salsa Kimberley & Pasha's Charleston Jake & Janette's Salsa Abbey & Aljaz's Waltz So many great dances. |

Kara and Artem VW - all time favourite dance- the synchronicity in their movements has never been bettered in another pairing.
Karen Mark AT - especially for the dramatic ending. Gethin and Camilla waltz - emotional Vincent and Danni VW - delightful and enchanting Jason and Kristina Tango. Brilliant routine. Jeremy and Karen's thriller dance. Matt Baker and Aliona VW - He was such an elegant ballroom dancer. Pixie and Trent Foxtrot was just a lovely and charming dance. Also loved their VW - Beyonce dance in the background and QS |

Nancy Dell'Olio's Rumba, in which she emerged from a glitter coffin is the ultimate novelty dance, but remains so tragically overlooked.

Matt & Flav's Salsa-amazed no one has mentioned it yet. It's an iconic Strictly dance.
Tom Chambers show dance Jay & Aliona's Pulp Fiction Jive As a bad dance-the Dolls dance - that one goes down in history for cringe factor. This season's standout for me so far has been Louise' AT (& and the Rinder/Balls dances! ![]() )

Good
Maren AT and salsa Matt DA's salsa Rachel and Cherie's rhumba (and I normally hate rhumba) Tomilla's showdance (even worth sitting through his shitty judging to see performed live) Cola's charleston Kartem's AS (screw you Len) Chelsea and Pasha's QS Louis and Flavia's tango Dani and Vincent's VW Mark and Iveta's ccc (almost in the bad category - put just about makes the good) Natalie and Artem's haunting halloweon VW - who cares if the style outstrips the content when it's this good Trent and Pixie's FT (and I'm normally bored by the FT) Jailona's jive The bad: Peter and Erin's samba (I love it but it was gloriously terrible) Jan and Anton's jive (plod, kick, plod) Kenny and Ola's McPaso - utterly naff but as distinctive as heck - Kate Garroway's of the same year deserves an honourable mention. The legend that was the Sarge's take on the same dance the next year The Bacofoil showdance (worst showdance evar - and the one that launched the fab slow mo version with it's great captioning) Widdy's Blackpool whatever it was meant to be Nancy Del'ilusonal's waltz (attack of the feather boa!) and rhumba (especially the spectular entrance drinking champers in a glittery coffin) Michael Vaughan's jive Dave Myers ccc (watching him throw himself around like a demented idiot was actually rather fun) The godawful routine that Fiona Fullerton and Anton did at Halloweon dressed as scarecrows (that wasn't but it was memorable to me) - their rhumba was horrid too but I don't think there was enough dance in there to remember the actual dance - I just remember it being horrible Scott and Joanne as Fester and Mortica and earlier as crab and little mermaid I think it was meant to be a samba - his scuttle along worth the price of admission) Jeremy Vine and Karen's Thriller routine from the Halloweon in two years time (more Bad than Thriller and not just in the way the artist intended the word to be understood although it had a touch of so-bad it's good and the immense fun he had with it made it enjoyable) Carol Kirkwood's Frankstein's monster of a rhumba the same week - were the theming barely matched the music and the music didn't match Halloweon and Carol's dancing just capped off the horror of the thing. |

The good;
Scott and Natalies Jive Kara and Artems Argentinian Tango Anita and Glebs Paso and the so bad - yet I couldn't tear my eyes away. Anne and Antons Rumba And strangely , Peter and Janettes Jive not that it was absolutely terrible or anything. it was just....so compellingly 'WTF am I watching?' kind of weird. |

Colin Jackson: Rumba in the final. First dance on Strictly that made me cry and still the benchmark for male rumbas on the show.
Ricky Whittle: stunning semi final Waltz. I felt as if I was intruding on a private moment. I was fortunate enough to meet Natalie and congratulated her on the choreography, and she told me that Ricky did very well as it was a very difficult dance she had given him. Ray Fearon: Viennese Waltz. Never forget Len saying that it was exactly how a VW should be "two figures on top of a music box". Again the benchmark I use when watching others dancing on the show. Scott Maslen: Jive. I know others will say Jill, Jay and Ores routines are better but that was the first jive on SCD where I was exhausted just watching them. Alesha: Not my favourite contestant but, I loved her Viennese Waltz. Not as good as Ray and Camilla (who always choreographed a good VW) but, it's a very close second. Just beautiful. Mark: Technically nowhere near Ricky or Simon but, it's still one of the best Argentine Tangos I've seen on the show because they got the atmosphere just right. Abby: Loved her tango. Excellent choreography from Aljaz. John Barnes: Salsa. Again I agreed with Len, it was great to see a "bloke" dance a very complicated routine naturally. Natalie: I don't think we will ever see a showdance with as much skill and execution ever again on SCD. I wasn't a huge fan of her or of Artems choreography but as Craig said "that was the showdance to end all showdances". I could go on and on as we've been fortunate enough to see some very special routines over the years.
