The judges were very unprofessional tonight.

I really don't think the themes should be taken literally - more of an inspiration. This is pretty much what they are doing and I think it's ok.

In an ideal world, if the contestants were in any way 'artists', then this is something they could really get their teeth into. Tempo is their choice, style is their choice, and putting an original song into their own chosen genre and making it work would show real talent.

Apart from anything else, a whole show of disco tracks a la karaoke would be a little tedious and would also tell us nothing about the contestants as artists. We would find out who could mimic a disco track or two, but not much else.

I'm afraid not.

Sam's vocal needs a lot of work. Her tone has no finesse and also very little variation. Her phrases are sung with very little shaping - this is why many here have been comparing her to a fog horn. Her tone is also an acquired taste - it is not very easy on the ear. She mainly has power, but struggles with pitching, and has frequently sung below the note.

She is young so I think it would be a lot to ask for her to be the whole package just yet. But Matt is very good in a lot of ways. He sounds better than her when he is having an off day. But last night was not a bad performance from him and he was easily better than her.

Matt was vocally weaker than Sam, fair enough if his your preference, but he was weaker, he got off at the beginning in a really low key, he then goes and abuses the falsetto which is showing a lack of control to repeatedly be using the same gimmick, he was vocally way more all over the place than Sam was this week who had her most polished vocal yet.

I'm not saying that Matt has never bested Sam vocally, but this week certainly wasn't one of them, in fact none of the four frontrunners bested the three underdogs vocally this week and that is just the truth to it.

Well I don't want to argue with you, as I don't really know what you mean by 'got off at the beginning in a really low key' (that makes no sense musically) and falsetto is not a gimmick, it is a technique which he does well and uses to good effect.

I agree with you that Sam was better than she has been, but her technique lets her down, her inability to soften her tone with vibrato is really beginning to grate. I won't criticise her any more because I can see you are a fan, but needless to say, you are way off the mark if you think she out-performed Matt.

Disco was a style of music. It wasn't just a load of random songs. If you don't sing the song in a style similar to the original in disco week it's pointless.

I know that people might have a preference for some of these acts that I've just given negative critique to, but from the judges perspective they are suppose to be more on how the acts actually sung their songs rather than what preference of Music that they like, and in no shape or form was some of these better than Sam, Ryan, or Saara tonight which some of them were getting hype like they were better.”

its all games to sway votes, people that seem safe wont get votes from the casual voter, if they feel Honey G is safe, the judges say shes good, and getting better, casual voters will say well she seems to have fans lets vote for someone who was slated, or a fav gets a bad comment then their fans will start to vote more for them
