Amen to that. He is quite capable to do a lovely flowing dance given the chance

I can only speak for myself - there's something about his own enjoyment of what he's doing that's very infectious, also he is playing up no end to the cameras. For me, it's also the contrast between the 'serious politician' role that he used to perform, and his ability to send himself up in the dancing.

But it's hard to explain what makes you laugh to someone who doesn't share the same sense of humour.

What a very unkind comment. It may not be to your taste but it certainly must be to millions of others who love to watch and then vote for him.

I can see him making it beyond week 10....

I personally think Ed WILL make it to Blackpool. But I think it ends there for him.

After Brexit and President Trump perhaps it's not now such an unlikely hat trick were Ed to lift the glitter ball.

What always puzzles me with the outrage at 'non-dancers' staying in, is that Strictly is determined by the public vote. Always has been. The judges ticking off the public for keeping the duffers in is just a bit of theatrics, they know quite well it will put their votes up. As long as people keep watching Strictly, it doesn't matter to the BBC who is in or out.

I did get a bit exasperated by Nancy Del'Olio virtually being wheeled around the dance floor on a trolley, but I still had to accept that a lot of people were finding that entertaining, and she was certainly amusing. I absolutely loved Judy Murray because she was enjoying it all so much, while happily admitting she wasn't any good and never would be. Strictly would be pretty boring if it was just one brilliant dancer after another.

What an unneccesary comment especially about the judges. Ed's putting in the hours along side everyone else so why should he have to leave by his own accord? It's an entertainment show, there's plenty of dancing contests/competitions you could watch instead. A dancer who isn't the best but is trying and providing the year entertainment always gets through, it happens every year, it's Strictly.

His dances are definitely more entertaining than a lot of the celebs that dance better and he has made a notable improvement every week unlike someone like Danny who was good to start and hasn't really changed.

I toned down my comments about the judges believe me. They very rarely comment about his Dancing they trend not to comment about his technical ability and as for Len giving him an 8 that was beyond believable at best in fact imo it was pathetic. Because it happens every year so what they used to put little boys up Chimneys they don't now. The judges imo are all terrible and the stupid Dancing at the start of the Show makes me want to boke.

I actually think he's as good as Greg so I don't understand why everyone thinks he's a joke. The difference is he has some comedy elements in his routines but they're equally good/poor dancers.

IN answer I felt the whole tone of your post was unkind. Why would you say it will be a disgrace of Ed stays in, he is working hard the same as the others and doing his best, and your comment about the judge Len was also very disrespectful.
There is no need to be unkind just because you disagree with the people who enjoy his performances.

I was really fed up with the judges tonight failing to comment on his *dancing*. They seem to have had their script worked out weeks ago - "Oh, Ed is a laugh, we'll not forget that in a hurry' - but they're not responding to what they're seeing.

I found no entertainment at all in watching Ann Widdecombe being hoiked around like a piece of luggage, but Ed is really entertaining me.”

Mr Spratt is very much a man after my own heart!!
(Though if I'm honest Katya is a big part of my change of heart too!!)

For improvement. Len is used to people like Ed who come to his dancing school a bit later on in life and really want to learn (only they don't have such a big audience!), and appreciates how well he is doing. Ed is also great entertainment.

Ed's smashing and I will be glad to see him back next week if he has enough votes - though obviously sorry to see anyone else go, they are a lovely group this year.

His performance last night was fab. I'm not sure exactly what it was but it left me with a great big smile on my face. ☺☺

What absolute nonsense. The judges put him bottom every week. The public keep him in and would regardless of the judges.

It's not a dance competition it's an entertainment show. I happened to be at a family gathering for the show last night. Which dancer did everybody stop what they were doing to watch? Ed's. It was the most entertaining by a mile.

I agree we arestill not at the point where potential winners could lose out Greg and Rinder are still there so I really don't see what the fuss is about.

He's improved as much as anyone else on the show, he can't do anymore. If people vote for him he should stay”

Mactown, when will you realise that it is the GBP who have put Ed through? Whether he stays or goes tonight, it the GBP making that decision. The fact that you clearly disagree with masses of voters is absolutely no reason to vent your spleen and post nasty comments all over the SCD forums.

Personally, I think he is far more what SCD should be about - entertainment, trying hard, learning - than those who have had previous dance training. But I don't go posting nastiness about Danny.

I feel the same, I don't find him entertaining one bit and he is starting to believing the hype.

That dance was awful stompy, hardly any basic moves and he gets an 8
He can't have many more Latin left to do
