Can he please be given a ballroom dance with classic music and dress. Enough of the comedy routine and give him the same chances the others have been given

I can only speak for myself - there's something about his own enjoyment of what he's doing that's very infectious, also he is playing up no end to the cameras. For me, it's also the contrast between the 'serious politician' role that he used to perform, and his ability to send himself up in the dancing.
But it's hard to explain what makes you laugh to someone who doesn't share the same sense of humour. |

IMO it is an absolute disgrace if he stays tonight and if he does stay and if he had anything about him he would say to the Judges I want to leave as I don't want to stay in if someone that is at least 10 times better than me goes. The three Judges that give him special treatment week after week need to have a good look at themselves in the Mirror especially Len who made himself look like an idiot tonight giving him an 8.

What a very unkind comment. It may not be to your taste but it certainly must be to millions of others who love to watch and then vote for him.

I personally think Ed WILL make it to Blackpool. But I think it ends there for him.

What always puzzles me with the outrage at 'non-dancers' staying in, is that Strictly is determined by the public vote. Always has been. The judges ticking off the public for keeping the duffers in is just a bit of theatrics, they know quite well it will put their votes up. As long as people keep watching Strictly, it doesn't matter to the BBC who is in or out.
I did get a bit exasperated by Nancy Del'Olio virtually being wheeled around the dance floor on a trolley, but I still had to accept that a lot of people were finding that entertaining, and she was certainly amusing. I absolutely loved Judy Murray because she was enjoying it all so much, while happily admitting she wasn't any good and never would be. Strictly would be pretty boring if it was just one brilliant dancer after another. |

His dances are definitely more entertaining than a lot of the celebs that dance better and he has made a notable improvement every week unlike someone like Danny who was good to start and hasn't really changed.

What an unneccesary comment especially about the judges. Ed's putting in the hours along side everyone else so why should he have to leave by his own accord? It's an entertainment show, there's plenty of dancing contests/competitions you could watch instead. A less capable dancer who is trying and providing the year entertainment always gets through, it happens every year, it's Strictly.

I wish that I could see what is so entertaining about Ed. I don't feel any joy watching him dance. I never find contestants like Ed entertaining. Also, are people laughing at him or with him?

IN answer I felt the whole tone of your post was unkind. Why would you say it will be a disgrace of Ed stays in, he is working hard the same as the others and doing his best, and your comment about the judge Len was also very disrespectful. There is no need to be unkind just because you disagree with the people who enjoy his performances. |

Mr Spratt was really sneering at the idea of Ed Balls being in Strictly and said he'd be out n the first week.
He's really enjoying seeing his and Katya's dances now - in fact he started joining in the salsa tonight without meaning to. (He'd just brought a cup of tea in for me and started dancing along instead of sitting down.) I was really fed up with the judges tonight failing to comment on his *dancing*. They seem to have had their script worked out weeks ago - "Oh, Ed is a laugh, we'll not forget that in a hurry' - but they're not responding to what they're seeing. I found no entertainment at all in watching Ann Widdecombe being hoiked around like a piece of luggage, but Ed is really entertaining me. (Though if I'm honest Katya is a big part of my change of heart too!!)

I was shocked at his scores. Anyone else would have been marked down. What was that 8 for?
![]() Ed's smashing and I will be glad to see him back next week if he has enough votes - though obviously sorry to see anyone else go, they are a lovely group this year. |

It's not a dance competition it's an entertainment show. I happened to be at a family gathering for the show last night. Which dancer did everybody stop what they were doing to watch? Ed's. It was the most entertaining by a mile. |

I actually think he's as good as Greg so I don't understand why everyone thinks he's a joke. The difference is he has some comedy elements in his routines but they're equally good/poor dancers.

How can you be so bitter towards someone who many are really enjoying. Why should he go just to bow to the minority who are blinkered to what is entertaining the mass on a Saturday night
Each week he has been bottom of the leader board so how is that giving him special treatment. It is an entertainment dance show not an international dancing competition. I think it is the whingers who need to look in the mirror ![]() ![]() ![]() Quote:
It is you who is making a total idiot of yourself with your tedious diatribes against Ed.
Glad to say that you are very much in the minority. ![]() Quote:
Well said. Ed is entertaining many people and long may it last

No he shouldn't, he is getting the votes from the public and he's improving and enjoying himself, I hope he stays tonight and goes to Blackpool. Ed has every right to still be there, it's an entertainment show, a bit of fun and that what Ed brings.

I don't understand why people are claiming it's unfair Ed's still in competition. Strictly is an entertainment show. There's no big prize at the end for the winning celebrity. Of course people want to see quality dancing but Ed's dance journey is inspirational to many and the show wouldn't be as entertaining without him
He's improved as much as anyone else on the show, he can't do anymore. If people vote for him he should stay ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Quote:

Personally, I think he is far more what SCD should be about - entertainment, trying hard, learning - than those who have had previous dance training. But I don't go posting nastiness about Danny. |

I feel the same, I don't find him entertaining one bit and he is starting to believing the hype. That dance was awful stompy, hardly any basic moves and he gets an 8 He can't have many more Latin left to do |

He's not been voted in as the new American president |
