Mactown, when will you realise that it is the GBP who have put Ed through? Whether he stays or goes tonight, it the GBP making that decision. The fact that you clearly disagree with masses of voters is absolutely no reason to vent your spleen and post nasty comments all over the SCD forums.
Personally, I think he is far more what SCD should be about - entertainment, trying hard, learning - than those who have had previous dance training. But I don't go posting nastiness about Danny. |

If I said Mr Balls was the greatest thing since Sliced Bread would that win me respect. Well no thanks I have my opinion and I will post it I have no problem with people who want him to win but IMO he is Miles behind the rest and that is just my opinion.

I do disagree with a lot of people on here and if you check I have not passed one negative comment on any other F/M that is not what this is about it is about imo someone who should have been out 2-3 Weeks ago. I will continue view my opinions and if he stays tonight over someone that imo is far better I will say that. I have been oh here a long time and made a lot of posts and I know what is acceptable and not acceptable.

I feel the same, I don't find him entertaining one bit and he is starting to believing the hype.
That dance was awful stompy, hardly any basic moves and he gets an 8 He can't have many more Latin left to do |

IMO it is an absolute disgrace if he stays tonight and if he does stay and if he had anything about him he would say to the Judges I want to leave as I don't want to stay in if someone that is at least 10 times better than me goes. The three Judges that give him special treatment week after week need to have a good look at themselves in the Mirror
especially Len who made himself look like an idiot tonight giving him an 8. As for other celebs being 10x better than him; they were 10x better than him on Day One! If he had 'anything about him' should he just not have bothered coming on week one? And 'special treatment'? He's bottom of the leaderboard every week - does it really matter if it's with a soul destroying 2 or an encouraging mark recognising the fact that he is putting in as many (if not more) hours than all the others each week and steadily improving? It doesn't affect the number of points he gets from the judges ranking. It is the public who are obviously ranking him far higher than other couples. Perhaps because they are more entertained and more inspired by him and because THEY want to see more. It tends to be self-regulating; when the public have seen enough, they will vote for the others and he will go. Ed shouldn't have to make that decision for them. |

As long as the public are allowed a vote there will always be many of us who vote for the couples that entertain us the most as well as those who are obviously the best dancers!! It may be tough on the 'in betweeners' like Daisy, Laura, even Ore, who is a great dancer but as long as there's the dance off as well there are not many series' where a real contender is pushed out before the end in favour of the 'less able tryers!!' |

Oh, dear.
I haven't bothered to vote yet but I'll be sure to do so on Saturday. And guess who I'll be voting for? Ed! Because I enjoy his dances. |

What hype do you think he is starting to believe? I don't think he believes he is a really good dancer, and I don't think there has been any hype to that effect. I think he is just really having fun and is delighted that the public are enjoying him and have warmed to him enough to have voted him through every week.

So just as a matter of interest are you saying the public shouldn't have the vote & it should all be decided by the judges?

I would be interested in your opinion if Ore is in the Dance Off Tonight and goes and Mr Balls is not in the bottom two how would you feel about that.

I can only speak for myself - there's something about his own enjoyment of what he's doing that's very infectious, also he is playing up no end to the cameras. For me, it's also the contrast between the 'serious politician' role that he used to perform, and his ability to send himself up in the dancing.
But it's hard to explain what makes you laugh to someone who doesn't share the same sense of humour. |

I have only rewatched two dance - Ed's and Danny's. I can't remember what Claudia has danced the moment the music stops, even though I think she is a sweetheart. It's a broad church - there's surely room for all types of competitors? I look forward to Ed and do apppreciate his timing (finished absolutely on the nail this week) and the skill involved in those lifts and drops. Shame on the judges for not recognising that.

I would be very disappointed to lose Ore as he & Jo are my favourite pairing this series but I eould have no right to complain as my three free votes last night went to Ore, Ed & Greg, the three dancers I felt would benefit the most in terms of how much I had enjoyed watching their dances this week!!

Tbf Ed is very light on his feet and has performed some decent basic dances. Frankly I'd rather watch him than a couple of the others who have gone nowhere for weeks.
I haven't voted for him but I have no issues if he stays. Fair play to him. With the amount of ballroom dances he has left he should get one for Blackpool and if he's there I hope it goes as well as his quickstep. |

I was shocked at his scores. Anyone else would have been marked down. What was that 8 for?

Entertainment
I find him to be un-talented relative to those that remain (and a few that have gone), however I also find him hugely entertaining to watch, and as a viewer, it's my 'right' to vote for him purely on that basis if I so choose, but the judges? Should they not uphold - and be held to - a higher standard than marking someone purely on their 'entertainment' value? Maybe it's because it's Len's last series he's having fun and perhaps taking the piss a bit, but I think if judges/ a judge were to consistently mark a celeb based on how much they entertained, it'd kill the show because all the middling - but basically technically competent - celebs would soon realise you might just as well do an outrageous routine badly, rather than a fairly boring routine well. |

If Mr Balls is not a joke contestant then why do they always choreograph him to do a comedy routine , dressed as a clown ,Oliver Hardy for example.
Also, is it true that the Beeb's staff are voting for him en masse with their BBC provided phones.? He is bottom every week with the judges, who snigger away at every performance of his but still praise him for "FUN,FUN,FUN, and YOU GAVE IT SOME WELLY and I'LL PICKLE ME WALNUTS". Even his wife cringes for him and looks embarassed. At least John Sergeant had the good grace to drop out when he realised people were trying to hijack the program. |

I have been surprised by how much I've come to like Ed.
He has fully entered into the spirit of the show and has given it his all. He's tried (and suceeded) to improve his dancing and has also been immensely entertaining, in my opinion. Not sure if he and Katya will make it through to Blackpool but I, for one, will be delighted if they do. Go, Ed!! |
