It is particularly unfortunate when this expression is misspelled “shoe-in" because to “shoehorn" something in is to squeeze it in with great difficulty.”

Thank you for the explanation. Much more helpful than just an angry emoji.

I wonder how much of the dislike for her is because she is dancing with Kevin, as the Cliftons seem to be hated on here for whatever reason.

I think she's a great dancer. I think she's done extremely well during the last few weeks. Her Paso Doble last night was for me, the best dance of the night. I loved the whole presentation of it. I warm to all her dances a lot more than I do Danny, who whilst there is no denying he is very good, leaves me feeling a bit cold. His dances come across as clinical to me.

There's so many comments on here about how her and Ore were both overmarked and nowhere near as many overmarked comments for Danny, which is another reason I can add to my list.

I recently mentioned Ray on this forum. As a child, he had won British and World ballroom and latin championships and he rollerbladed as a hobby. I felt it was unfair to have him on DOI, as he had way too much of an advantage. It was clearly obvious from the first week that he was going to win. He topped every single week on the leaderboard and whilst there was no denying his talent, the series came across as very boring. They may as well have just ended that series after Week 1.

I watched the show again after a break lats night, well alright I didn't I caught up with the dances on youtube..but anyway..once again I thought how good he was. But somehow again he doesn't move me or engage me or make me want to watch. He's just great and does all the steps and is polished, handsome and er..... that's it. Don't ask me to analyse it, I can't, but he doesn't excite me, but he does plenty of others, so there you go.

Having said all that I remarked in another thread this guy has got 'WEST END SHOW' written all over him. He's like those excellent and talented performers who play to packed out houses every night and yet whose names are not always familiar to general public. Or if they were familiar, it's a case of turning up for CIN or some other charity gig every few years and people saying 'whatever happened to xxxx?' 'Oh they're big in musical theatre now'.

So, depending on what his plans are I imagine that Strictly will be great for Danny, win or not. Although, barring a producer push for a plucky underdog (which they'll do anyway) I still think he'll win.

If he wins, he and Oti really deserve it. They have done so many brilliant routines and they have a lovely partnership.

Putting my feelings aside about if he should be there or not. Probably yes. Has not made this series that exciting though.

I am a bit of a SCD purist and I prefer complete novices. However, I like Danny and the fact he is a bit of a ringer doesn't actually bother me. I like the fact that he just gets on with it, no drama or tears. Turns up and performs very well. Claudia is my favorite but I don't think she has enough to win, therefore Danny is my 2nd choice.

Personally I just love watching Danny and Oti's dances. I look forward to seeing what they will come up with. Tonight's Samba was brilliant. They don't just turn up on a Saturday and produce amazing dances with no effort they work incredibly hard to reach that standard. Last week they mentioned putting in 11 hour days - that is dedication! . Both are perfectionists and that is their challenge every week. They don't want to just produce good dances but stunning ones. I think we are lucky to be seeing that quality of dancing every week. I just sit back and enjoy. I hope they win, they deserve to, but there is no guarantee. Personally I think it will be Louise.

For me the ones who should have been in second place tonight were Claudia and AJ. That was an amazing routine. It was AJ's first time dancing the AT too so he deserves praise for his control and those lifts, timed and executed perfectly. Claudia's strength during those lifts was mind blowing. Under marked and under appreciated by the judges imo.

I think that was me.

I just get annoyed when people do this, and write your instead of you're and so on. I just get sick of seeing it.

I agree entirely. I really hope they do win!

If he does, he deserves it. He and Oti have been the highlight of the show for me every week. I couldn't care less about whatever dance training he's had - he obviously wasn't trained in ballroom and latin, he's learning completely new dance styles every week and doing a phenomenal job.

Love how Oti really pushes him. He's clearly the best male dancer they've had and she doesn't let him coast at all.

Would be great to see him win, not so sure he will though.”

I absolutely see what you are saying, and can completely appreciate that Danny is a great dancer, but he really doesn't do it for me. I have completely failed to be engaged by Danny - I love Oti, think she is a stunning dancer who has produced top-notch routines, but Danny leaves me completely cold and I can't put my finger on why.

I think Danny oversteps the mark for talent on Strictly. The judges have tried to nit pick as best they can over the series and that ridiculous(almost manufactured) linked dance gave them a reason to criticise more fully-but overall he looks like a pro. I wouldn't have been surprised to see him as a pro.

Ofcourse that doesn't mean to say both he and Oti haven't worked hard-they have (and the show is pushing that aspect)-but he has just been polished up rather than taught. In terms of winning the thing, to me he is just as bad as Ed, he certainly wont be getting my vote. He is the only one Iv ever viewed as too good for Strictly.

Same.

It's making Strictly rather boring for me at the moment.

It's so obvious he's going to win and I don't care.

And yet, for me, he doesn't have that special, exciting 'extra' bit that stars have.

He's like a professional backing dancer. Very very good, but not thrilling.

Maybe that will even it up. I don't think its a foregone conclusion he will win as I dont think he is popular in the same way that Jay was last year. It will take a top performance by another finalist, but that just might happen.

I've never felt compelled to re-watch one of his routines. I have with Louise, Ore and Claudia.

Yes this is how I feel about him too. He is very good but there is something vital missing. Even when he produces something astonishingly fast and furious I'm left unmoved.

I am not drawn to him as a human being but as a dancer he is incredibly good. I am a snooker fan and to put things into perspective I would say Danny Mac is to dancing what Ronnie O'Sullivan is to snooker.
That is just about the highest compliment I can pay to him.
Danny makes dancing look ridiculously easy in the same way Ronnie makes snooker seem the same.
Irrespective of previous dance experience he makes it all look so natural. The quality of his execution of all the hardest technical elements looks to my amateur eyes as unmatched in Strictly history. Every transition from one position to the next and from one dance to the next seems utterly seamless. Much as in one sense I would dearly love to make a case for him not winning the feeling that it would be rough justice for him not to win seems overwhelming.
By definition if I deem him to be the best dancer in SCD history.........which I do it is with inevitability that I take the view it would seem pretty silly for him not to be deemed the best in his own series.
On a human level I would like to vote for everyone but.
On a dance level to my mind he is already the only worthy winner. And as dance always supercedes in my mind I believe he should emerge as 2016 champion.

Love Oti, but although I appreciate his talent, Danny really doesn't entertain me like the others. It feels like I'm watching a dance version of painting by numbers or dot to dot.

There's no journey if you are already at the destination that everyone else is travelling to.

Sadly, I see him winning. Another Tom Chambers I'm afraid

Danny is the best dancer by a country mile. However, he started out great. I would prefer Claudia to win as she's improved so much.
